Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Who paid for your wedding?

I'm finding that it is such a toss up in our group of friends. About half the people I know pay for their own, and then it's split on Brides's parents and equal split between Bride and Groom's parents.

So, I'm being nosey. Who paid for your wedding?

My parents paid for ours, DH's parents paid for our honeymoon and the rehersal dinner. It was pretty traditional in that sense.

Re: Who paid for your wedding?

  • My mom offered to pay for most, me and my husband put in quite a bit of money and his parents paid for the rehearsal dinner

  • Essentially we did.  We were going to have a big wedding but found out I was pregnant and didn't think I'd be able to fit my dress in 6 months.  So we cheated and went to a jp after DS arrived.  We had a small "reception" a month later for family and friends nothing fancy basicly just a dinner.

  • We paid though both of our parents offered.  We figured we were nearly 30, hadnt used our parents money in years and had good jobs.

My parents insisted upon paying for my dress so I did splurge a bit more there.

I am also a party planner so I pulled a bazillion favors owed and we did it for a reasonable amount.

  • My parents, DH and I.

DH and I paid for a lot of incidentals that we bought along the way. Favors, Veil, Headpiece, table stuff, and lots of other things.

  • My parents paid for the wedding, his parents paid for the rehearsal dinner and my hubby paid for and planned the honeymoon.  I had just turned 21 and he was 20.

ETA: I forgot to mention that I paid for the photogropher and wedding album.

  • My parents took the brunt of cost of the wedding. They had an account that they started putting in when I was in high school.

His parents paid for some of the alcohol at the reception, rehearsal, and few other random things that they wanted that I didn't care one or another about (like some favors and such). They also threw a party the weekend before that was pretty informal but had food and such.

We paid for the honeymoon. And it was wonderful :)
