I went in today for my first follie check on Follistim and I had 2 8's, a 7, 6, and 5. (not sure if there were more than that or not, there could have been).
The RE just kept saying "I hope they all don't grow!". On Clomid I only had 1 follie so I have no experience with this. I know it's early, but I'm so scared they'll have to cancel the cycle. Have any of you had a bunch of close ones to start off with and ended up with a good number (2 or 3)? She said they just have to get to 16. Last time mine was 24 when they did the trigger. Is it 4+ that they won't do the IUI's?

I have PCOS and I start out every cycle with quite a few under 10. Those are all so small chances are they probably won't all grow at the same rate - I would guess you'll end up with a dominant follicle. So don't worry until they get bigger.
It took 5 failed IUIs and a failed IVF, but our FET worked!

Hi!
Just wanted to say good luck--I actually just posted about my follie check today too. I don't have any experience to offer you insight obviously since this is my first round too, but I hope everything works out!
How much longer will you be on the follistim?
DX: High FSH/DOR
It took 44 cycles, just over 3 years, 6 failed IUI's in MI, and 1 round of IVF at CCRM to get our BFP!
Beta #1 (9dp5dt) = 206, Beta #2 (11dp5dt) = 438

Those ones are still pretty small hon. I am am sure a couple will take over. They just start monitoring a lot earlier on the injectables than they generally do with the clomid. Are you staying on the same dose?
The number of follies that my RE will let you trigger with depends on your comfort level. With your and my DH's numbers that will most likely let you trigger with more than someone who is not dealing with MFI.
I can't wait to hear your next update! I am so crossing everything for you!

SAIF/PAIF Welcome
Lots of love and luck to my PAIF/3T/IF Veteran ladies, especially my dear friend Zookie. Congrats to Papps, Teach84 and Starbuck on their little ones.
Thanks girls... I just called the RE and I go back on Thursday for my next check. They increased my Follistim from 50 to 75 for the next 2 days so hopefully that'll help speed things up!
Good luck with the next few days UMich and you'll be right there with us soon MDluv!!
