DH is a specialty pharmaceutical sales rep, and I am now a SAHM. I used to be a teacher, but my salary was great as I was on 10th step. It always amazes me to hear teachers don't make enough money. Even when I started off in NYC as a first year teacher (in 97), I was making 50k. Who can really complain about that as a fresh out of college kid. I am sure there are many states out there which do not pay their teachers well, but I have a hard time thinking you are all underpaid...
Starting at 50k?! I hope to be making that by the time I retire lol! I'm an elementary school counselor (which means a 2 yr masters program, yet I get paid roughly the same as a teacher who is not required to have a masters in NC). I think having a "great salary" is the minority in the field of education.
DH is a chiropractor.
ugh, that is awful. Granted your cost of living is so much lower, but school counselors in this area are making about 75-85k. Do you have unions?
My H works in the HVAC industry, he has a couple of responsibilities in his job. He's a home energy auditor (???), as well as a district field manager for their heating and AC devision. The energy auditor thing is a new position, he's been a field manager for the past few years though.

Nope, no unions here. If we had stayed in NY I would be making more, but the job market was pretty slim when I finished grad school. Plus DH can make more here than in NY, and hopefully in the next 5 years or so he'll be making enough that I don't have to work- I probably will, but knowing I don't have to would make it that much easier to get out of bed haha.
