About how many ounces of food is your LO Getting at each solids meal?

We're just starting 2 meals this week.  I sent DD with 3.5 ounces of yogurt plus 1 ounce of blueberry puree for breakfast (yo baby servings are 4 ounces, which is how I came up with this number) and 4 ounces of apple puree.  I know i should be feedign her as much or as little as she wants but in general how mych do you offer at each meal?

Thanks

  • We do 3 meals on most days and I offer about 1-2 ounces of fruit, veggie or chicken/veggie mix and 1 oz. of cereal. I would offer more but she hardly ever finishes this amount. Once she starts finishing the smaller amounts, we will offer more.

  • Our Solids Schedule:

Breakfast: 1/4c oatmeal & 1 container or jar (3.5-4 ozs) of fruit

Lunch: 1 YoBaby Organic Yogurt (4 ozs) and another container or jar of fruit

Dinner: 1/4c barley & 1 container or jar of veggie

So, total ozs/day is about 16ozs (incl yogurt) and 1/2c cereal.

  • Right now we are doing 2 oz of fruit and 1 tbsp of cereal at breakfast. 2 oz fruit/veg at lunch at 2-3 oz of veg for supper. However the last few days she is crying when the veg is done at supper so I might increase to 3-4 oz.
  • she gets 4 oz at breakfast & lunch & 6 oz at dinner.  She takes 25 oz of formula per day, as well.  She would probably eat more if I let her, but she would spit up from being too full.  She is just a hungry little thing!  She weighs about 18 lbs I'm guessing just for reference.
  • We do 2 meals per day (breakfast and dinner) and he gets about 3-4 oz at each (depending on the meal).

Every once in a while we do a "snack" at lunchtime and it's about 2 oz.

  • We're starting slowly.  She has only 1 meal a day.  She gets 2 ice cubes of different types of food, mixed with either yogurt, cereal or BM.  We're starting a second meal this week, which will probably be a little oatmeal and a fruit.

  • Tristan eat 3 "meals" a day.  We offer about 3-3.5oz at eat meal time.  Sometimes he eats it all - other times he only takes about 2oz of it.

  • DS gets solids 2-3 times a day.  Breakfast is usually a couple tablespoons of oatmeal.  When he gets the fruits & veggies, if he's eating an ounce and a half that would be a lot. But he's only been having them the last few weeks, so we're still just introducing foods.
