How much vinegar in the laundry (CD's)?

DS keeps getting red, and I read somewhere that it may be the pH of the diapers and that adding a little vinegar to the final rinse should make the pH more suitable.  But, how much?  And should I just add it to the bleach dispenser when I put the dipes in, or should I add the vinegar to the rinse cycle by hand?

    We bought a Downy Ball to use for the vinegar, and fill it up almost to the line. I read that you can fill it all the way, but that just seems like a lot to me. 

    I like using the DB because I don't have to worry about adding the vinegar at a certain point in the cycle.. I just toss it in there and let the washer do its thing.

    I use about 1/3 cup and I just throw it into the final rinse (I have to reset the machine for that rinse anyway so it's no big deal).

    I do the same thing and use the same amount. I must have read it somewhere!
