my answers:
- i'm mixed. my dad is black & my mom was white.
- but noone ever guesses that. they either think i'm Italian or Spanish. i'm pretty light so i get it.
- my husband is white. French Canadian though people assume he's irish thanks to his red hair & blue eyes.
- alex has my dark hair but she has pretty fair skin & blue eyes. so it's hard to say.
it's funny when my mother (not my birth mother) who is black is out with alex & tells people that she's her granddaughter they kind of do a double take.
the whole blue eyes & fair skin thing- heh.

- what is your nationality/race? White. Irish/English/French/Norwegian. I couldn't be any whiter unless I was my husband, who is German/Czech.

Usually they don't think I'm Italian, but I do look "very German & Irish"

DH is white. He's a mix of Irish, German, Russian, Spanish, and a whole bunch of other nationalities that his mother can't remember.

LO will be #1. I have no idea what this kid will look like! I'm very fair, blue eyes and strawberry blonde hair. DH has nice olively skin, black hair, and brown eyes. I have a "gut" feeling that LO will have dark hair, blue eyes, and hopefully DH's skin tone. But who knows!

No, people never guess correctly. A lot of people think I'm italian. Some have even guessed lebonese or somewhere from the middle east before.
DH is irish and swedish. MIL is first generation. His skin tone is polar opposite of mine. lol. He is very irish looking with his fair skin, blue eyes, and splatter of freckles. He is what you call "black irish"

if you have a kid, who/what do they look like? Don't yet. but have 3 nieces. 1st one looks more white, 2nd one looks more african american, 3rd one looks more white. their parents are in same situation as us as far as race goes.
and for those ku with #1- who/what do you think they'll look like? Definitely curly hair and hopefully a sweet tan
- what is your nationality/race? I am white. A mix ole mix of Irish, French Cajun, and Italian. The Irish comes out more in me with my fair skin and light eyes - my brother has lots of cajun in him and tans so beautiful
- do you think people "guess" correctly? Usually they get the Irish - I have natural red/ auburn undertones in my hair and very light skin.
- did you marry someone from a different nationality/race? Alex is white as well. He is a mix of Irish and Native American Indian. He is 1/8 Indian and that is what shows through the most - dark hair, tans easily, and he has very high cheek bones.
- if you have a kid, who/what do they look like? and for those ku with #1- who/what do you think they'll look like? This is the question we cannot wait to find out! Since we have red hair on both sides of the family - Kate could very well pop out very, very Irish. However, Alex's NA Indian genes are super strong so she could also have dark hair, skin, eyes. Either way, I don't think she will be a mix - I think she'll be one or the other. Which will mean one of us (DH and I) will get the side eye when we are out with her!
- what is your nationality/race? half english, then my mom is some combination of ukrainian, slovakian, russian and polish. This has left me with very pale skin, blue eyes, and curly brown hair.
- do you think people "guess" correctly? I don't think people guess much, but I think I look more english than any of the others in my background.
- did you marry someone from a different nationality/race? H is half german, half english. So we are different, but still pretty similar with our pale skin. He's just taller and has brown eyes.

- did you marry someone from a different nationality/race?: My DH is EVERYTHING under the sun, except Italian!! His main nationalities are Irish, German, Polish, Puerto Rican and Native American (I believe)
- if you have a kid, who/what do they look like?: Everyone says DS looks exactly like my DH, I don't know though. I can't see either of us in him!!
- do you think people "guess" correctly? People usually guess italian, since I'm curvy, have dark skin, a big nose, and dark hair. I love stereotypes. lol

- do you think people "guess" correctly? They never do. They say Asian, but they always say "Chinese" or "Hmong".

- if you have a kid, who/what do they look like? and for those ku with #1- who/what do you think they'll look like? My DH says that the Korean gene is very dominant (LOL) from some show he watched. Who knows. I hope it has his height (he's 6 3) and build but if it is a girl, I still hope for the height! A taller asian would be awesome!
- do you think people "guess" correctly? NO! Because I live in Texas everything thinks I am hispanic. When I lived in NJ everyone knew I was italian. I honestly get tired of everyone speaking to me in spanish....

- did you marry someone from a different nationality/race? yes, DH is of mexican descent. But people do not always guess him correctly - he is frequently mistaken for Indian.

DH is Mexican. But he has blue eyes and relatively fair skin, so people don't always "guess" correctly with him unless he's speaking Spanish.

I just hope she gets DH's hair, which is dark and super-thick and curly and all-around awesome. Mine is thick too, but medium-brown and straight -- BORING.

- did you marry someone from a different nationality/race? Mike is also white. He is Italian, Welsh and English. He is actually darker than I am. He has had people think he is Jewish a lot. He even gets asked if he is from the Middle East sometimes. I do not see it, but whatever!

She has the perfect skin tone! Looks tan all the time (I'm very jealous). As she gets older she has started looking more like me. I'm guessing LO is going to look like DH too.

No one ever guesses correctly, normally I get Italian or Spanish.

I think that Dominic will have dark hair/eyes like us, but who knows! My mother and his father are both blond hair and blue eyes.

- did you marry someone from a different nationality/race? Yes, DH is Mexican and French, he was adopted and actually looks a great deal like his adoptive mom's Portuguese Hawaiian family.

This is number 1 for us and I figure LO will either be really dark with a mix of the Native American and Mexican genes, fairly light with the French Irish Swedish genes, or come out looking like snow white with black hair and fair skin. We are really anxious to see what our little girl will look like! A lot of couples who are Asian/Caucasian usually consist of a Caucasian man and an Asian woman. We're the opposite. I am convinced my baby will come out with lots of dark hair, but we'll see! I'm biased, but I think she's gonna be really pretty.
I'm white but blood is:
50% Yugoslavian, 25% Swedish, 25% Polish
People know I'm white but they hardly ever my nationality. Unless they hear my maiden name and know that a good chunk of Yugoslavian/Serbian last names end in "ich". Then sometime they guess.
Dh is also white but adopted so he doesn't know what he is. But he has a tint of red in his beard so we think it's Irish or Scottish.
DD is a spitting image of me. The only thing that dd got of dh's is his eyebrows. (They look just like Jack Nicholson, lol)

I am 1/4 Lebanese, 1/4 Dutch, and 1/2 European hodge podge (Norwegian, Polish, German, etc).

Mostly because I pretty much look white. Some people are able to notice my Lebanese features (facial bone structure, eyes, hair, etc). DH has an Irish last name (from a Step-Dad who adopted him) so now I have a SUPER Irish name (first AND last) so that throws people off a bit since I'm not Irish at all!

Yes. DH is half Filipino and half Hispanic. He is so handsome. He definitely inherited the best of both of his parents!

This is #1 so who knows! I am assuming dark hair and dark eyes like DH but maybe somewhere in between. I have light brown hair and hazel eyes.

So I think it's a toss up...although I believe that my genes are the dominate ones...I do carry some recessive fair skinned genes though so who knows.
