Trouble TTC

Can I vent for a minute?

Can't we make a Clomid post with all of the good information and just post a link to it when people have a question about Clomid or are apparently ill-informed of the risks?

I can't handle these posts anymore (I swear, I try not to even open them but I fail at self control), it feels like the same thing over and over, just like TTGP felt before we left for our little oasis.Paradise

Is it just me? you can be honest and tell me if maybe I just need to move on to a different board. Should I be heading over to IF instead?

I'm sorry, it's just been a shitty day and this is annoying me.

Re: Can I vent for a minute?

  • I think we could have a link about HSGs too.  I feel like I am always responding with the same information.  Clomid and HSGs are the new OPKs and charting questions of TTGP.  LOL!

  • I am still new at this but i agree. I know i asked a few questions here and there but not until after i read through old posts and did research. I think it would be great to have a section for HSG's, Clomid, maybe Femara and even the SA. I will try to post all the info i have from my dr office to contribute :) Great idea!!

  • I don't even open them! LOL

    You stay here. K!

  • LOL- Don't leave! Well, unless you want to :(

I think you are more annoyed because some people hear the advice, and they seem like they no nothing about Clomid, how it works, or the risks. Then, when people explain, they are kinda just like "oh, well." I hear you, it's frustrating because you just want them to know a little more and be an advocate for themselves. I hate that people have to learn not to 100% trust docs, but do question when necessary.

I think the "blanket" Clomid response is a good idea. Although, I shouldn't do it since I've never taken it, LOL. You know, some boards have a little section in the description where they have a FAQ section. Maybe that is an option?

    Don't leave! Crying

I'm ok with having a link for those posts. There seems to be a lot of misunderstandings with OB's and their patients. I think its a good thing to have anyways :)

I agree with that and that people should know the truth. There are a lot of RE's that don't feel monitoring is necessary (mine included), and a lot of people who use Clomid unmonitored to a successful pregnancy. Are they taking a chance? yes, but as far as I'm concerned it's their decision to make. As long as it's an informed decision, I don't see why everybody always has to jump down their throats and tell them to find a new RE.

Can't we just say "Here's what your RE didn't tell you" with a link and leave it at that?

  • Maybe when I get home I can try to put something together, like a Googlepage or something with links, information, posts, experiences, whatever.  And then maybe if we (or our wonderful mod, Lina) ask the powers that be, they'll put it in the green box at the top and we can direct people there.

    I don't wanna leave 3TC, I <3 my girls here.

I have never taken Clomid, either.  However, after all of the posts on here, I feel like an expert.  Ha!  I don't respond to clomid questions because I don't have experience with it and probably never will.

I actually agree.  I think if the info is there, and they choose to not, then to each her own I suppose.

I always kinda feel like an a??hole for being that way but I've done so many stupid things in my life, and not being monitored on Clomid barely makes the list.

Do I wish I had been monitored? yeah, but only because it was on the 5th cycle that I finally learned I wasn't even responding to it. Totally wasted my time and money.

  • I would love it we had something like this.  I just don't feel ok when I open a post like that and saying yes sure, it is ok how your RE is doing it.  (Well usually it is an Ob/Gyn.) If people choose not to have any sort of monitoring that is of course their own decesion; but if they are clueless to what can and does go wrong, I would not feel good not letting them know so that they can make an informed choice.

I hope you stay here though!  I would be happy to offer a single link offering them the information or point them the top and then let it go.
