Snoogle? Anyone try it??

Since I've been sleeping on my side, I've noticed my back hurting. Anyone try the snoogle? Have you seen the deluxe model that bascially encircles you all around so if you flip sides, you don't have to reposition the pillow. Not sure if this matters but I'm 5'2" and about 110lbs.

Re: Snoogle? Anyone try it??

  • I had the snoogle with my first pregnancy, and I am about the same size as you (at least I was!).  For me, it was kind of a waste, although I got it as a present.  It was too big when I shared the bed with DH and the dog, so the only time I really used it was when he went to visit his family for a week and I had the bed to myself.  It's good in theory, and pretty comfy, it's just big!  Right now, mine is at my parent's house (I tried it when I stayed there by myself during my 39th week b/c DH decided to redo the bathroom then and take out the toilet!), and my mom keeps asking when I'm taking it home - but we don't have room for it, so I'm stalling!  Hope that helps!

  • I have it, but I am not a fan! It is really hard to reposition yourself. I have had better luck using a regular body pillow to support my belly and keep me on my side.

  • I have a regular body pillow and that helps a ton.

  • I don't care for mine. I like to have my own pillow so the shape of the Snoogle is uncomfortable for me to sleep with. Seems a regular body pillow would work much better for me but I've not gotten around to buying one yet.

I bought it thinking it would be the greatest thing in the world.... (after returning the boppy body pillow) and honestly? I could do without it, easily.

It's so big, and not very "breathable" so it's easy to get hot with it. I didn't think the size would be an issue because we have a big king sized bed.... but I find that I'd rather prop a pillow up behind me, then have an extra pillow in front of me... than have to mess around with the snoogle (or any body pillow, for that matter). For the money I spent on it, it definitely hasn't been worth it so far.

  • I absolutely love mine. It took a little getting used to but I have been using it since I was about 6 weeks because I had such bad breast pain (I am a stomach sleeper) and I needed to train myself to sleep on my side.

  • I just got one and it's okay.  Like someone mentioned you get really hot with it!!  It's hard to toss and turn with it, but I've figured out how to work it.  I like it better for naps during the day then sleeping at night.  I figured it would come in more handy when I am further along and my hips really hurt.
  • Regular body pillow is the way to go in my opinion. Cheaper, plus if you do any traveling while you are pregnant, you can just bring the pillow case and stuff it with regular pillows. Plus, it's easier to store once you are not pregnant. I mean, where are you going to put the Snoogle when you are done?

I love mine.  I used it during my first pregnancy, and just started using it again this time.  It's given me some of the best nights of sleep I've had in months.
  • DH's pregnant cousin has one. DH wanted to buy me a boppy cuddle pillow, much smaller than a snoogle. I think it would work. Currently I have a Boppy wedge which I used w/ my 1st pg. I use the wedge plus one pillow under my legs and a small throw pillow that came w/ our comforter set for in between my legs and and even smaller pillow to wrap my arms around since I get pins and needles in my hands.

  • I LOVE, love, LOVE my Snoogle.  It was worth every penny.

  • I am shocked to hear that most people dont love it. I LOVE my snoogle and DH does too! He would steal it if he could. Every one is different I guess. We have a huge bed so it works. I tried a regular boy pillow and couldn't stand it!
  • I just used a body pillow last time- I could tuck it under the belly.

I had back pain/sciatic pain the entire time last PG and it's starting now for this one. I used a support belt thing and everything and soaked in the tub nightly! Not much you can do about it, really. It sucks!!

This. I used it the 1st time and loved it. One of the first things DH said to me when I told him I was pregnant again was "Good thing we kept the snoogle!" Ha ha -- he was quite happy with it too. :)

  • I swear my snoogle is the best thing that ever happened to me.
