Recommend Training Pants

I'm looking to get some training pants for my DD.  Here is my "wish-list"

Ability for her to know she's wet

Ability to hold accidents (not just a little)

Side Snap(s)

Any suggestions?  I'm open to anything.. given the price is reasonable.

DD fights me every morning when I want to put a diaper on her.  She wants to wear big-girl pants but she won't go on the potty and she isn't telling me when she has to go.  I would like to try training pants for a couple days and see if it makes a difference (either she figures out it is time to use the potty, or she goes back into diapers).

She's showing lots of the signs that she's ready for PT but she won't go on the potty.  I def. don't want to push her, but I think she's ready.

  • Honestly, I tried a lot of kinds, and unless your kid is one of those who starts peeing a tiny bit and can stop and run to the toilet, training pants are pretty worthless.

The only solutions I came across was:

-side snapping (loosly snapped) pocket diapers - GADs worked well, but any side snapping diaper would do as long as they can pull it up and down - also great for easing up on the amount of "stuffing" you put in the pocket

-Gerber training pants with fleece/wool cover - this worked great for us for awhile. DS thought they were cool and they kept the leaks from going through.

-finally we just let the accident hit the floor and DS saw what happened when he went peepee. He hated it running down his leg and it was probably the one thing that finally made him realize it was not fun to pee his pants. ;P Gerber undies at least absorbed some of it
