Ok so I am probably overreacting a little bit, but if one more person asks me if we have picked out a name yet, I may explode. When I found out I was pregnant, both H and I decided that we would wait until our DS was born before we named him. We told this to everyone as soon as we told them I was working on our first kid,Yet it seems almost everytime I see people they are asking if we have picked out a name yet. It's not like they don't know the two names we are going to decide between. I know they are just curios, I think the heat is making me crazy. ![]()
on a side note, I like to ask people why they decided on the names that they did for their kids. Not in a "ugh...why would you name her/him that!?" kind of way, more like a "That's a cool name, what made you decide on it?" way. If someone asked you this, would you find it rude? (I've never been told that It was, but sometimes I get the feeling that it is)
Re: What's in a name? (ventish)
Every time someone talks to me these days, they ask the same 3 questions:
1. When are you due?
2. Is it a boy or a girl?
3. Do you have a name yet?
The questions are always in this exact order, and I dread the third one because we are not sharing baby's name with anyone until after he is born. People look at me like I'm crazy when I say that we are keeping it a secret. I just don't want to see the look on people's faces if they don't like the name we picked out, and I don't want to hear their opinions about what the name "should" be!!
Ugh - I totally know what you mean. We're team green, so by the time they get to question #3, people get so frustrated with us! Like we're keeping all these secrets just to piss them off or something. I've had a few friends say it isn't fair that they don't get to know the sex OR the names...I just keep telling them they'll find out soon enough.
