movement with anterior placenta

ok ladies at my last appointment at 20 weeks nurse did tell me I have an anterior placenta.

I am just getting a little nervous b/c I really haven't felt the girls move.. I think I have felt flutters but no big kicks or anything.

Should I be worried that I will be 22 weeks tomorrow and haven't felt kicks?

Thanks

Re: movement with anterior placenta

  • Don't worry.  I had an AP with JR and felt very little movement.  I couldn't do kick counts, if I felt him once per day, I knew he was ok.

  • I have an anterior placenta and didn't feel actual kicks until 22-23weeks.  I felt little flutters that I thought was movement, but I was not sure.

Our baby B has an anterior placenta. I felt A all the time but initially only felt B if she kicked to the side. Now that she's bigger, I feel her more but definitely nothing like I feel with A. I'd say I probably didn't feel definite movements from her until at least 24-25 wks. I know it can be worrisome sometimes but have faith that your girls are happy and healthy.

  • Not at all.  I didn't feel much of anything until sometime during the 22nd week.  Totally normal (frustrating but normal)

  • I have two anterior placentas and havent felt the babies move at all.  It is frustrating.  I lie in bed and night and concentrate really hard.... but nothing.  U/S tech and dr said it is completely normal.  They said I should start feeling something soon.
  • I had an anterior placenta and only felt flutters until 22+ weeks - felt them from about 18 weeks onward, but they weren't regular until 22 weeks and definitely were just fluttery feelings, not hard kicks. Nothing I'd call a good solid kick until maybe 24 weeks?
  • I didn't really start feeling movement with my twins until about 21 or 22 weeks because of my anterior placenta. I also didn't realize that what I was feeling were kicks for a while. I realized a had been feeling them for a few weeks once I figured out what they really were.
