Two Under 2

AW: I officially aimed for a nap overlap today....

We start DD's nap routine at 11:30a so I started nursing DS at 11:15 on one side. At 11:30 we did DD's routine (stopped nursing for this, it's too much for me to juggle while reading stories, changing DD etc) and 10mins later DD was in her room falling asleep and I was able to offer the other side to DS once we were back in the living room. He was asleep within 5 mins and I laid him down in his pnp about the time I started hearing silence from DD's room :)

If they nap as long as they have been, I could be looking at at least 2hrs of 'me time' here.....if not 3!!! I had to make sure DS ate at 9am (he can normally wait until about 9:30a) in order for him to want to eat right at that time but I'll be doing that again tomorrow for sure lol :)

  • That is awesome.  My LOs nap together most days and it is great.  The only problem is DS will only sleep on me during the day so nap time equals nap time for mommy too.

DS would do this too :) In fact, for his first 2wks of life, after we did his sister's nap routine, I'd grab him and bring him right to bed with me and let him pacify/nurse away until DD woke up from her nap. Yup, I'd get a 2-3hr nap each afternoon and it was FAB!

The bad part of that is I found I was waking up super groggy, almost cranky even, and totally unmotivated to do anything. It would slow us down considerably and it felt, scarily, a bit like feeling depressed so I try not to take a nap now :( And the break in the day *is* nice now that I can watch TV, eat in peace etc.....

Thats how I feel if I nap during the day, so I opt to try for bed early most nights.

    nice job on the naps!!
