Name your 1st Tri Board annoyances

I think I need to steer clear of the 1st Tri Board.  I'm sure at some point I was all "OMG me TOO!" about a lot of these posts, but now I just have to groan and eyeroll.

Some of my favorites?

- I don't "feel pregnant." Am I going to lose my baby?

- I had a beta, and the number (no, not plural) is X.  Is that good?!

- My doctor says the heartbeat is good but I googled until I found a situation where someone had that heartbeat and they miscarried.  Will I miscarry?!

- I'm nauseous/not nauseous/tired/not tired/my boobs hurt/my boobs don't hurt.  Am I going to miscarry??

- My first appointment isn't for 6 weeks/9 weeks/12 weeks/whatever.  Is this normal?!

- My period is 7 days away from being late.  My boobs hurt.  I'm most definitely pregnant!

- How can I feign alcoholism so no one knows I'm pregnant!?

  • Definitely over the "I don't feel pregnant" posts, count yourself lucky if you don't feel pregnant especially if you've already seen a happy healthy baby!

The ones I laugh at though are the "It's a Boy/Girl!" which go on to say they aren't 100% sure but they could tell & the tech told them so. If a tech ever told me before 15/16 weeks what they believed my child was I'd be laughing at them.

  • mine are that if you try to help, they disagree with you anyway. So I rather just stay here haha

  • LMAO, i was thinking the same thing about this board sometimes. Its the same things over and over and over again.

-When should I tell my boss, my pant's don't fit, should I get the NT scan, etc..

Needless to say, it kills some time at work!

  • All of the mis information!  The first time I lurked over there I was terrified with what some people were telling posters.  I felt like I could correct false info in almost every post! Yikes!

I didn't like the 1st trimester board.  Now that I'm 13w2d I've been checking out the 2nd trimester board and really like it so far.

  • The "how long did it take you?" posts, as well as the posts from women in the 2ww asking for advice or for someone to read the tea leaves based on their symptoms.
  • ANYTHING about implantation bleeding.  UGGGGH.  Whether or not other women experienced it has no bearing on you.

  • I wonder (if) when we move to the 2nd tri board people are going to say the same things about us newbies:) We all started like that (to some extend)....Smile

I don't stop by often, the posts seem very repetitive...

  • The "am I pregnant?" posts kill me. I didn't know getting pregnant endowed me with magical powers to sense pregnancy over the internets. Please, put your uterus closer to the screen so I can get a better reading... :p Honestly, just wait a little longer like the rest of us and pee on a damn stick.
  • I agree with all of the above!  Including the fact that I like the 2nd tri board a lot more (just lurking over there for the next couple of weeks, LOL).  The one that bugs me the most, though, is the "my OB told me that my beta of X indicates I'm X far along!"  Anyone who's done treatment for IF (or anyone who's done any research at all) knows that the number itself doesn't mean anything, and the acceptable range at each stage is HUGE.

  • It's funny... all that stuff annoyed me the first time around, but with this pregnancy, I just can't be bothered. Maybe because I know it only gets worse as the pregnancy goes on (the endless questions about mucus plug and dilation... oh dear lord) and then exponentially worse when the babies are born. I think I maxed out my annoyance factor and magically became tolerant again. :)

I still get all stabby when people dispense totally incorrect information as though it's the absolute truth, though. That's my biggest Bump pet peeve, for sure.

This for sure, and as soon as you try to be the voice of reason, you're suddenly a snarky b!tch.  The first tri board has sucked since I joined the bump years ago.

    I feel the same way!

  • I just ignore the posts that I think are repetitive and/or silly.  I don't let it bug me.

  • I stay away, as others have said it's too repetitive.  Plus I get jealous of the gals that are soooooooooooooo far along but I'm closer to being one of them now teehee.  I really can't stand the "am I pregnant" type posts.  Pee on a stick and leave the rest of us alone.  Sigh.  I stay here now.  We're all around the same time frame and our group is pretty much set.  I like it.
  • I have been thinking this over the last week!!!  My two biggest pet peeves are the "there's a faint line, is it still positive?" Yes, read the directions, a line is a line.  And, the beta questions... "my beta was 250, is that good, is it too high, omg am I having twins?"  I did my fair share of beta homework, but never posted it anywhere.  That one drives me crazy.

  • I think the 1st Tri board is ok - but it is repetitive.  I guess that's what you get when you get "new" people with BFP everyday - so the "age" range is 3 - 12 wks along!  That's the nice thing here - we are all at close to the same stage, so it doesn't really get repetitive.  We all have the same questions at about the same time, so we just reply to each other's post rather than starting a whole new one.  Plus, this is a fairly active board, so it's a lot of fun!  I still check out 1st tri, but don't read a lot of the posts and I don't think I have posted there in a while.

  • "Could I be PG?", faking drinking, anything that perpetuates OWTs, and anything that is flat out false gets to me. Anything else, I think it is fair game for the topic of this board (and even some of those are, though they are NMS). Early on I know how much I appreciated being able to ask/talk about anything, however inane it may be to someone later on. That said, I am ready for 2nd tri talk. When I read that board, much if it is stuff that I know little about. It is time to learn more and venture into new tri territory, be a newbie and ask irritating questions all over again, LOL!
  • I was starting to feel like an old fart on the first trimester board, yeah the questions are so repetitive but I know I was one of them when I first got preggo.

Let's see the ones that have annoy me now are: "am i pregnant?" "spotting/bleeding" I mean if you are you should go see the doctor right? "when should i tell people?" umm, how should we know? i think the funniest was someone asking if they should find out the sex of the baby haha, seriously? again, why or how should we know what you should do with such "personally" questions, those are the ones that would annoy OH almost forgot when they put "newbie!" as their title, omg i see that EVERYDAY.

So glad i found this board didnt even know it existed till today!!!

  • I refuse to read the 1st Tri board, but I agree that all of the things that you posted are as annoying as hell.

  • For some reason it really annoys me when people write "yoke sac" instead of "yolk sac".  I know its an easy mistake but for some reason it irritates me.

I dunno, I guess I'm kind of jaded. I've already 'been there, done that'. But, honestly, most of these people are 1st timers, so its in their nature to ask 1083897328 questions, stupid as they may be. I don't let it bother me anymore. Actually, I very rarely go on those boards. I've always stuck to due date boards. More fun when you can get close to ladies with the same birth month. :)

I HATE this with a passion.  I have stopped trying to be the voice of reason.  I'm just trying to help people, I'm not trying to be a b!tch.

    LOL!  I agree! Yes

I finally got annoyed enough today to say to myself, "I'm done with you 1st Trimester group!"
