Anyone use 'The Picture People'?

If so, how do you feel about them?

 

I had off for the Jewish holiday today and DH is working the second shift this week, so together we took DS to get professional pictures taken at 'The Picture People'.  I was pleased with their photographer, however I was not pleased with their salesmenship or their services.  We had an appointment, but we had to wait about 15 minutes before they were ready for us.  Then we waited 25 + minutes for the pictures to be uploaded.  They wanted us to select our pictures today and if we didn't then when we come back we have to pay a charge for reprints.  We really liked one picture, but DS was drooling and in order to have that corrected we need to pay an additional $5.  If we want to change the picture from color to black and white, also an additional charge.  

 I guess, the part that annoyed me the most was the waiting and the hurry to purchase the pics today.  DS was screaming.  Do other customers really select their photos with baby in hand the same day?  Jeeze, I was there from 10:50am until 1:15pm already.

    I actually love that they do it all in one day. If you do the Portrait club, you do not have to pay to have your pictures go from color to b&w. Also, I think they include touch ups. We were there awhile but it was worth it to me. I didn't have to go back again. Also, waiting for  25 minutes to have the pictures uploaded and the samples printed it not bad at all.

    I too love the Picture People. We use them all the time for pictures. WhileI haven't done it yet with both kiddos, I used them every 2 months with DD#1. I too am a Club member so I never were told about the pricing on changing from color to black and white, etc. They always fixed little problems as well for no charge.  You use to have to wait an hour before they were digital, so waiting 20-25 minutes is wonderful in my opinion. We normally do some shopping or head to the food court for lunch. I always had a second person on hand to help pick the pictures and help with DD. I never had major issues with DD screaming or anything. At our PP store I know you can come back a different day to do your preview if you need, or just come back later that day not just in 25 minutes.

    I actually use to work for the picture people when I was younger, I really liked it there and yes 99% of people choose their photos the same day with baby in hand. ?I was a photographer, but a lot of times we were so busy I had to also sale my own photos... which I loved b/c I could see mom & dad's reactions (sometimes they would cry). ?This time of year is crazy... for all studios really. ?We always hired a LOT of extra help in the fall and it was still madness.

    We used them and I love them. I want my pictures the same day I can't wait. It took about 20 min to upload them and then we sat there for a while picking them out and decided what size and everything. We were there a long time but DS fell asleep after he was done with the pictures so it was no big deal. We joined the portrait club so a lot of the extras were free.

    Thanks for your replies.  I am considering joining the club you all speak of to save money and that way I don't have to pay extra to choose my pics another day.
