NBR freezing cheese - kraft singles?

Well, It's kinda BR - I mean, DD will eat those all the time if I let her.

HEB had a good deal on them today (buy oscar meyer lunch meat and get one pack of kraft singles for free).  So I now have 2 packs of cheese that I don't really need yet b/c I just bought a pack last week.

I've frozen shredded cheese before w/ success, but never singles/american cheese.  any experience?

    I wouldn't think it would freeze or defrost well.  I think it would get crumbly or a mushy cheese mess.   I've never done it.  Try it....freeze one slice and see what happens!

    I've bought microwave frozen breakfast sandwiches and they have a slice of what looks like American cheese on them. They taste just fine when re-heated.

    So, I'd think the cheese would freeze just fine.

    Or you freezing them to hide them from DD or to keep them fresh.  Slice cheese doesn't really spoil b/c they individually wrapped so they can stay int he fridge for a long time.  I wouldn't freeze them, try hiding them behind some vegetables in the fridge so DD can't find them.

    thanks all. I think I'll try freezing one or 2 to see what happens.  But you're right - they do last forever in the fridge too.  I'm not really trying to hide them from her though - but that's a good idea to hide them behind the vegetables.  She'd NEVER look there!
