I have an UPPA Baby single - which I love- but to convert it to a double would cost almost the price of a new double stroller (long story- mine is too old).
So, I went looking for new strollers and I like both the Citi Mini by Baby Jogger and the Phil and Ted.
I couldn't really tell the difference between the Sport and the Vibe (other than price). Anyone have Phil and Ted and know? Can you use the seat for an infant? It says from birth but I couldn't tell if you need a carseat adapter or if the lower seat can hold an infant.
I live in NYC so a stroller which can fit in small stores and has good wheels is vital.
My ds will almost be 3 when the baby arrives. While he loves to walk, there are times where he definitely needs to be in the stroller for safety reasons because of traffic and the amount I walk.
Help!!! If you have a double stroller, I'd love your thoughts. Thanks!!
Re: I'm having a double stroller nightmare
I hate my Phil and Ted. It is really not good at much of anything. You can use it from birth and that is handy. It may be because I am tall, but I find it hard to push when loaded with 50 pounds of kid (My DD is 28 pounds and DS is 19). I also had a hard time with flats. The Vibe has proprietary tires and they can be hard to come by if you have a blow out. It is larger, seems taller and wider when you push it, I did not think it was any easier to push and to me, the big advantage of the P&T is it's size. It is handy for running in and out of small shops (but has no place to put any packages you might buy.)
I ended up getting a Mountain buggy Urban Double with a carry cot and I love it. It is as narrow as a wheelchair, so you can get it in most places, since ADA makes most stores follow that. I use the Phil and Ted only in the car where it is pretty flat, like a mall, not for walking or taking the train.
Just bought a City Mini Double a couple weeks ago.....LOVE it
I don't love that all of the accessories are separate, but I love everything about the stroller. I swear its lighter than my bulky single Chicco.
The new 2010 ones have a larger basket.....it drives very smoothly and fits through all doors (so far!).
There are also roomy mesh holders on the back of each seat where you can store stuff.
I don't know about your area, but here in Michigan it is super hard to find them and the accessories. An employee at Buy Buy Baby told me they are having a hard time keeping up with production right now.
I found the accessories on different online sites and got the stroller at BBB.
I cannot say enough great things about this stroller!
