Miscarriage/Pregnancy Loss

Waking up scared?

I had my D&C on Wednesday. I'm still having pain but I figured I would. I'm not sleeping well at night and I wake up really scared, thinking there is something wrong with me. It only takes a minute for me to realize I'm fine and nothing is happening but I keep doing this over and over again. Do other people have the same problem?

Re: Waking up scared?

  • I haven't had this experience but it seems like it would be very common after having a tough tramatic experience. (( Hugs))

  • I had a lot of awful dreams and would wake up with anxiety. I think it's pretty normal, what happened was scary so it's no wonder you feel scared sometimes.

  • I experienced something similar. For about 2 weeks after my D&C, I kept dreaming of dead and dying babies. It was awful. I kept waking up crying and sweating multiple times a night. But, I haven't been bothered by those types of dreams since.

I hope that you are able to experience a restful night soon. Hugs to you.

  • oh honey <3  Those are panic attacks.  I suffer from those buggers FREQUENTLY but when I had my miss, they got really bad.  My phych said the increased hormone levels increases anxiety and panic.

When your hcg goes down or starts dropping dramatically, you will feel much MUCH better.  Just make sure you know that it is just panic/ anxiety and it wont hurt you at all.

  • I had the bad dreams after Keely was born.  I was always trying to get to her before she passed.  Then I would wake up with the chest pain and pressure (which was probably panic attacks??)  I'm not sure, but I know they stressed to me to watch out for those sort of things.

  • This morning, my SO woke me up with kisses, which I thought was really sweet. Then he told me that I had been whimpering in my sleep all night and he was making sure I was ok. I vaguely remember having a scary dream, but I didn't wake up feeling panicky or anything.
