How many shoes?

DD finally has gone up a shoe size.  She has worn size three shoes since she turned one.  I have slowly bought quite a few pair of shoes for her to wear with different outfits.  Now that she has gone up a shoe a size I am looking to buy new shoes to go with her summer clothes.  I have found four pair I love.  A pair of tennis shoes, flip flops, dressy sandles, and play sandles (she can get wet).  They all aren't too expensive but I know DH is going to lose it when I tell him what I am buying.  I am just wondering how many shoes your LO has?  I just want to see if buying four pairs of shoes is crazy.

Thanks.

Re: How many shoes?

  • DS has three pairs of gym shoes and a pair of sandals.  He's very rough on his shoes (ALL boy! LOL), so we go through them a lot!

  • On one hand, we have a lot of shoes right now - I bought about a half size up so we should be in these for a while.

On the other hand, I'd hate to shell out a bunch for shoes and her to spring out of them right away. But you need shoes!

Old Navy has super cheap flip flops.. like $3.50 (I got them on sale so I paid something like $2.35).

  • I should add.. I have 2 pairs of the cheap ON flip flops, a pair of sneakers, and 2 pairs of Mary Jane type shoes (One I bought to be her 'dress shoes', the other MIL sent randomly). I probably spent $25 altogether.

  • I don't even want to count how many shoes dd has. Her feet are small and grow really slow so she does get to wear all of her shoes quite a lot. She just grew out of her shoes that she has been wearing since the fall! To me 4 shoes isn't too many at all!
  • Two pair, but he's a boy.  DD isn't even here yet, and she already has more shoes than him!
  • DS has four pairs that fit now. Vans, Stride Rite sneakers, dress shoes, and sandals. He has a bunch for the next size up. I just like having one that slips on, one to run in, dressy, and one for outside getting dirty.
  • I have the exact same thing. 4 pairs. In the winter, I only get her two as there isn't the need for the two pairs of sandals.

  • Let's see-

2 dress pairs, white patent leather and black, for chuch

a pair of old tennis shoes for playing in the mud

a pair of nice casual sandals

a pair of decent tennis shoes

    a pair of crocs

and these, which at the end of the day are her favorite and the ones she wears almost all the time.

  • The boys have a pair of sneakers, a pair of sandals, 2 pairs of robeez, a pair of rain boots and whatever else MIL hides at her house and only lets them wear when they are there...

  • 2--sneakers and sandles
  • DS has a pair of sneakers and a pair of sandles. I want to get him some dress shoes for church though.

  • 2-sandals and brown little girl shoes (not sure how to describe them. They just make her look like a little school girl!)

She has two pairs that don't fit from her previous size--sneakers and dress shoes. She is 19 months and has only had four pairs total! I guess I thought her feet would grow faster and didn't want to waste money. Now I see I could have bought a few more :)

  • Kate has 3 pairs: sneakers, Crocs, and white leather sandals for dress up.  She wears the Crocs 99% of the time.

Ben has 2: Crocs and sneakers

  • Right now they each have tennis shoes and sandals, plus Will has some nicer tennis shoes (got a free pair because of a shipping delay) and they also have TCP flip-flops with the strap across the back that I bought a while back for this summer, but I'm skeptical that they'll leave them on for more than two seconds.
