Trying to Get Pregnant

Does DH wear a wedding band?

Mine does not.  Only if we are dressed up or going out somewhere nice.  He doesn't wear jewelry and I don't fuss about it.  It doesn't bother me, but I know that it may bother some women.

  • Yes. When we first got married he didn't. I didn't care though.

  • Yes - DH always wears his wedding ring - he only takes it off when he is working around the house and it could get damaged. I actually love looking at his hand and seeing his ring, it makes me smile.

  • Mine always wears his, and to be honest, I expect him to.  I feel like that is part of the deal when you get married.

  • Yes he does. All the time.

I think it would bother me if he chose not to wear it for a non-safety reason.

Same.  It would actually be dangerous for him to wear his at work.

  • He doesn't wear it at work because he is a machinist. He forgets to put it on at home, and it sometimes bothers me only because I got him a new one for our anniversary that was pretty expensive. I like to see it on him.

  • No, he lost it :(

We've only been married for 2 years and I lost his ring for about 6 months. It was always a little too big so I would wear it on my thumb when he went fishing so it wouldn't end up in the water. I have no idea how I lost it but I did. I felt horrible about it and 6 months later it just appeared in DS's crib. ( I was pregnant when I lost it and we didn't even have a crib yet.)

Now the ring has been missing for a long time again and I'm thinking it's lost for good.

Yes he does, there are times when I would actually prefer he take it off knowing how expensive it was.  But we have really good insurance on it so I don't think he cares much about that.  I wouldn't be mad if he didn't wear it everyday but I wouldn't have spent as much on it either.  I would want him to wear it but wouldn't make a big deal about it.  Like PP I still smile when I look and see it :)

THIS. He works with some unsavory women and the ring makes me hope they will backoff. DH is not one to be swayed by those type of girls but I just don't want them to even try.

  • He does. He never wore jewelry before we got married but now he'll wear the ring and the watch I gave him for the wedding. He only takes it off when he trains jui jitsu and I get mad when he sometimes forgets to put it back on :)

  • yes, he likes his ring quite a bit
  • My DH is a carpenter and he does not wear his wedding band to work. He does wear it when we go out. He wants to get a tattooted wedding band. I don't have a problem with that idea, he can hide it when he needs to by wearing the real wedding band.

Nope. He's a nurse, so not really a great idea for him to be wearing anything but gloves on his hands. I actually keep it on my keyring, because he forgets it, and asks me for it once we're out :)

    This.

I would definitely be bothered if he didn't wear it, especially out.  At first he thought it would be weird since he doesn't wear any jewelry at all, but he got over that (once he found a ring he actually liked) and loves wearing it.

  • Mine does.  He is actually on his 2nd one.  Lost his first one 3 or 4 months after we got married.  Afer he lost it he put a binder ring around his finger because he said it felt weird without it.  He has a new one that we bought from overstock.com.  I'm glad he wears it.   Like another poster said, seeing it makes me smile.

  • DH wears his 24/7 but he has always been a jewelry person so it doesn't bother him. He never takes any of his jewelery off. He has a necklace, bracelet, right hand ring and his wedding band.

  • Yes, he wears it. We bough a rather inexpensive ring because he liked the material. I've been encouraging him to get a new one recently because he's lost about 20-25 lbs and it's so loose-fitting that it falls off his hand.
  • Mine does.  He has a brushed white gold one, and, the other day, we noticed that the brushing is all pretty much gone.  Now, it's just shiny.  It's fine, but it was rather interesting.

  • No.  DH absolutely loved his because I surprised him by having it engraved with a Gaelic saying before the wedding...but he is a FF and it was dangerous to wear at work, so he used to take it off before every shift.   He lost it before our second anniversary.

If they are that shitty, the ring is only going to be more of a challenge to them.

I know, but I feel better with him wearing it than to leave it at home. I hate girls like that. I have faith in my husband, I trust him, I don't have to trust them. Before I would choose not to go to his work parties but now I make a point to go and look extra pretty.

  • Yes, he wears his all the time.  I think he takes it off to shower.  He didn't wear it for a while a few years ago because of work, but now he's at a desk job.
  • yes he wears it daily..

  • Yes, but he takes it off for work.  He worries about either losing it at work or getting injured while wearing (ONE guy he knows got it caught while running/climbing something, and now he worries about it).  There is one hook in his locker he puts it on, and he's gone back to work to get it on the odd occassion he forgets it.
