If you purchased used CDs..

Originally I thought it was pretty gross to buy used CDs, but the more I hear of people doing it, and realizing that there aren't stains if they are properly washed..I'm starting to get interested in purchasing my NB diapers used.

That being said, what extra preparations did you have to take if you purchased used CDs.  Did you strip the diapers or wash them a different way prior to use?  Thanks for your insight!

There can still be stains if properly washed ;o)

  • I stripped all my diapers and used the sterilize setting on my washer prior to use.  I also added grapefruit seed extract because we had some yeast issues and I didn't want to take any chances that we'd end up with it again.

Ha, you're right..I guess I always thought that they would have these huge stains on them..not small discoloring :)

  • I bought some that were in excellent condition and they don't need special prep. I would just wash on hot a couple of times and consider them good to use unless there is any smell.

  • I guess I should specify, I'm looking purchase Kissaluvs used.  Not sure if that changes anything, can these be boiled?

I don't know if you can boil kissaluvs, but did you know they sell seconds directly on their website? They're usually readily available.

I've purchased used CD's on here and I just plan on sunning, stripping and washing them a few times.

I'vebe read you're not supposed to boil CDs with snaps.

    This.

Kissaluvs can probably be boiled if there are no snaps. You might not want to boil them though if there is elastic, snaps, or aplix/velcro. Because the boiling water might hurt those elements.

  • I always strip.  Mostly because DD has sensitive skin and I worry about whatever detergent was used reacting with her butt.

Kissaluv's sell seconds on their website, you can get a pack of 4 klo for $36, I got 8 on their website.
  • I just washed and dried them. Some had been prepped but never used. Others were used and in good shape.

I only got one used CD that wasn't in good shape. I can't get the stain out of it to save my life.
