Summer: What do you have planned?

Are you doing anything fun and exciting for summer?

How are you going to entertain the kids?

  • We're going to Disney World in June- so excited about that.

Otherwise, lots of trips to the pool.  :)

  • We are going camping 4th of July but other than that I got nothing planned. I do want to take DS to the Zoo and to the pool.

  • we're going to africa for the world cup!  =)  no kiddos to think about yet, although we might start TTC once we get back (or maybe on the trip - that'd be cool).

  • We are going back to Michigan over fourth of July to visit family, which I am looking forward to. I'll be meeting my brand new nephew then too!

Other than that just lots of playgroups, story times, and splashing around in the baby pool which I need to buy :)

  • We don't really have anything planned.  Probably just hanging around the pool, going to the lake, the usual.  :)  DH will have finally turned in his prelim which has sucked the life and fun out of him for the past 2 months.  I am so ready to have my husband back.

I'm trying to figure out how to do this.  We could have a Michigan playdate, and meet up with the nestie who moved to MI...blanking on the name....  :)

I'm getting a pass for the Belton Lake, we'll be there a lot.  And maybe a pass for the Temple waterpark, which is almost identical to the Old Settlers waterpark in RR.

DH and I are thinking of taking the kids to Dallas for a weekend to hit up the aquarium and maybe the Fort Worth Zoo, depending on when we go and how hot it is.

  • I'm hoping to get a family membership to either the Y or Lifetime or something that has activities for all of us.  Still trying to figure out how to add that to the budget though.  I have a Girls' weekend planned with my aunts, cousins and one of my sisters in CO in July.  We are spending a week at a lakehouse later in July, courtesy of the IL's and we'll be in Michigan for a week and a half in August.  Lots of people here with MI ties!  Otherwise, I know where the free pools are, the sprinkler parks, we'll be exploring other parks too because I've heard of a couple more that are supposed to be cool, hitting up the Children's Museum in New Braunfels because I've heard good things about it, and spending time at the lake on the boat.  DS will be old enough for Vacation Bible School this year too, so he'll be doing that at some point.  I've been thinking about all of this for a while because I want to really make the most of the summer.  We don't know how much longer we'll be here, where we're going, anything and this "summer planning" is how I'm dealing with living in limbo land.  :)

Yes! Are you from the west side? I can't remember. We should totally have a Lake Michigan play date! Oh, or the Meijer Gardens! Both things I'm really excited to do with the boys when we're home :)

  • Nothing too fun. Summer is the busy time for me at work & will be busy for DH as well. We generally spend a lot of time at our bay house in Port O'Connor during the summers, so I imagine that will be the case this year too. My dad is anxious to get Morris's toes in the salt water.

June: Meredith's birthday, Alex's christening, a visit from my mom, likely a visit from the ILs.

July: likely a visit to Arkansas at some point to see my family and meet my BFF's new baby. Meredith will be in a one day a week summer program at church that starts in late June and runs through early August.

August: likely another visit from my mom, getting ready for school.

Plus lots of trips to the pool, lots of time outdoors.

  • In June we are going up to Colorado for a week.  We are both looking forward to that trip.  We'll be spending time in Denver, Fort Collins and Colorado Springs.  We'll be celebrating DH's 30th birthday while we are up there as well which will be fun!

My birthday is in July so we'll be doing something fun to celebrate.  I know over the summer we'll be doing lots of shopping to get ready for the LO's arrival!

No, from the east side.  Detroit suburbs.  Damn, that would have been fun!

  • I'm trying to come up with something for us to do, but I'm blank.  DH has a bunch of leave he needs to take this summer, so we could actually take a two-week vacation this year.  We just need to think of where to go.

Last night DH was all, "You know, maybe with the two kids it would be easier to just stay home and work around the house."  Clearly I need to come up with something and fast, 'cause that doesn't sound like a vacation to me.

  • My oldest friend will be in town at the end of May.  I'll likely go to Phoenix to see family in June so they can meet B, a trip to Sea World, the zoo and lots of trips to the pool!

  • Getting out of the Texas heat as often as possible.  The kids and I are spending 2 weeks of May in CA, and 2 weeks of July at the lake in WI.

When we're home, I'm sure DS will spend hours in his baby pool like he did last summer.  I don't know what else we'll do, but we'll be finding something so we don't stay cooped up and go BSC.

  • We are going to Europe to celebrate DH getting his PhD.  No kiddos yet, so we don't have to worry about that.  Although I'm thinking my sightseeing abilities may not be what they were pre-pregnancy.  :)

After that, we're moving, which does not top the list of fun and exciting for summer. Wink
