Please send us some dust re: NTS

I know that dust and prayers work and I need EVERYTHING I can get right now. I had the NTS today and got some bad news - they usually don't want to see any measurement higher than a 3 and that is borderline, our measurement is 5.8. I have a CVS scheduled for Monday but that only measures chromosomal abnormalities and even it if came back normal there's a big chance there is something else wrong, again because the measurement is so high.

Also, according to my calculations (knowing exactly when we conceived and day of LMP) I should be 12 weeks, the baby is measuring 11 weeks and 3 days.

I'm pretty upset right now and in a daze. My DH has been wonderful and is here with me.

We had shared our news with our close family and friends and my mom just called me asking how everything went and I lied. I had to lie, she's working tonight and her birthday is tomorrow and I just can't tell her what is going on.

I don't know what to do, what to think, etc.

I wouldn't worry about the baby measuring a little smaller than you'd expect, personally; I don't think that's telling of anything.

When you did the NT scan had you already done the blood draw? Were they able to give you results that took that information into account, or do you need to wait for them to send you results of the scan and the bloodwork combined?

Thank you! I had the blood test done after the scan and will get the results next week. The genetic counselor seemed so sure that there was def. something wrong. We scheduled the CVS for Monday morning.

I wish you the best and that the CVS will come out fine. NT scans do have a reputation for having a higher (than appreciated) false positive rate. I truly hope that's the case here.
