hi, all. DS is almost 3, and for a few months has been using the potty to pee (not to poop, though). his daycare teachers suggested pull-ups for him.
I'm wondering what's the best way to transition him. just stop using diapers (including overnight)? phase out the diapers slowly?
also -- DH bought some huggies pull-ups with some strange feature... they turn cold when the toddler urinates to help with potty training. I think that's probably too intense for DS's first experience with pull-ups, but I don't know if I'm just being overly cautious.
I'd appreciate any advice. Thanks!

Re: transitioning from diapers to pull-ups?
My DS is the same way, he's already 3. I just stopped using diapers and starting using pull-ups.
The huggies pull-ups....I got them, used them and doesn't phase my LO one bit. I think it makes him urinate more but doesn't motivate him to use the potty any more than he already does.
I talked to my dr and she said he's just not ready!!! Not ready, he's 3!! All kids are at their own time. I have had many suggestions, give him a toy when he successfully goes or take him somewhere. Every child is different and we have to individually find what works. Is there a character he likes, cars, toy story, etc. Buy some big boy underwear and see if that motivates him. For my DS it does but then he won't use the potty when I am not there, (his aunt watches him all day). He will get it don't worry.
Something I heard on the radio........."There has never been a kindergartner in diapers."
Pull-ups are just glorified diapers and they're more expensive. What is the reason that daycare wants you to switch to pull-ups instead of either continueing with regular diapers or doing potty training and switching to real training pants?
DD is only in pull-ups at night. We put it on her after her bath and it's taken off when she pees in the morning after she wakes up. It's easier than a diaper because she will pull them down to pee before bed. All other times she's in underwear and has been since she turned 2.
This.
We used pull ups only for going out of the house for the span of 3-4 days it took to potty train them.
Pull ups are NOT going to help potty training.
Why not just train him?
