I miss my grandmother

She's not gone...she has Alzheimer's and I don't see her any more (sad side effect, if you can't see her regularly, which I can't due to distance, she gets very nervous to have you around, she's scared of "strangers").  She brought eight babies into this world.  I am one of the youngest grandchildren, so I didn't get to spend much time with her as an adult.  I wish I had.  Before her memory failed, I had been dating DH for a while, and she used to tell me all kinds of stories about courting and marrying my grandfather.  We never talked about having babies, I didn't think to ask her.  Oh how I wish I could now.  I think she would understand my pain in a way that no one else in my family could.  She has such a kind soul.  I miss her tonight.  xoxo, love you Gramma.  Happy Mother's Day.

    this is a very sweet post. I'm so sorry that you can't see her, that must be so hard.  I can tell how much you love her. Hugs.
    DD(9)DD(5.5)DS(3)DS(born 2/1/11) July 2006, lost a baby at 8 weeks, natural miscarriage , May 2009 lost Zoe Eliana at 17 weeks no reason known, possible under developed organs. Lost two more babies in September 2009 at 7 wks 4 days. Had myomectomy surgery to remove a large fibroid in November 2009.

    That would be hard.  I miss my grandmothers too.  One for now is in a nursing home about 20-30 minutes way so I am getting to see her a lot more (but her health is not looking  good) and my other lives about 4 hours away so I only get to see her a few times a year.

    I'm so sorry!  My grandma is getting that way, too, but she remembers me and just thinks she hasn't seen me for a long time! I'm sorry you can't see yours anymore - that's so sad.

    I am so sorry!!  Alzheimer's is so difficult for family. 

    I feel your pain tonight too.  My Dad's mom passed this Feb, the week before my m/c and my stepmom's mom (whom I was very close with growing up) passed on 4/18.
