That's how it always goes....but we don't necessarily recognize the cycle because what was faux pas 80 years ago, is considered traditional to us since its made the rounds a few times now.

I did something in the middle. My name is different (Christia) and Dh is very common (James). That's why we picked Katrina. Its not crazy but not very common. And the spelling is the tradional spelling too.
We have the same situation, except DH is the one with the unique name and I am the one with the uber common name. We're trying to pick names that are somewhere in the middle - our top girl pick is Isla, and my top boy is Jameson (he doesn't have a top boy pick yet other than Jacob but obviously that is far too common for me haha).

I always thought that I would end up picking out weird names for my kids because I hated having such a common name.
Then I hit 16 and realized how much it would suck to have a not normal name.
Obviously, we went the very normal route with BP.
