3rd Trimester

Anyone else's vag in a lot of pain after getting up (from sitting)?

I can seriously barely walk, I have a desk job and I get up on ocassion and am in sooo much pain that I can barely move.  I feel like I've been kicked a million times down there.    Any ideas on how to help ease the pain??  I've got to try and make it through 1.5 more weeks of work before I'm done.

  • YES!!!!!!!!!  After sitting or laying down.  It's terrible. I  didn't have this with my first but this time around has been awful.  No advice really.  I've noticed that after I walk around for a little bit it's better.  Maybe take more frequent stand up breaks and try and walk a little more?

  • Yes, and I find myself waddling through the hallways at work on my way to the restroom--which is usually where I'm heading when I get up from my desk.  I'm sure I look terrible, but really don't care anymore.
  • Yes!!  It's way worse towards the end of the day.  I always feel like an 80 year old when I get up because it takes me forever and I'm all complainy about it.
  • Yes! First thing in the morning is the worst, but anytime I sit for long periods it hurts!!!

  • Absolutely. This happened to me around 35-36 weeks when LO's head moved into position. His head is still there and it still hurts. Sometimes a warm compress (heating pad) helps.
  • Me too, actually mine is a little more like pulling from below; no suggestions....sorry :)
  • yes and it's pretty unbearable.  i got this tip from a doula on mothering.com:

stand up straight and lace your fingers under the lowest part of your belly (sometimes it's easier to have H do it for you).  then CAREFULLY lift it up...not up and in, just up.  it relieves the weight on your pelvis and feels AWESOME.

  • It's weird cause you would think it would be easier on us with desk jobs not having to walk around all day, but it actually can have the reverse effect.

When I get up after sitting for too long I feel like LO is ready to just fall out of my crotch!! Not to mention that it takes me a minute to take my 1st couple steps due to the pain... I actually feel better once I start walking for a little bit, so at work I try to stand up at my desk and stretch during the day and walk around a bit every hour or so to keep things mobile, LOL

  • Try to stand up slowly, while splinting it (light pressure) with one or both hands. My doula told me that your ab muscles are connected down there, and as they are stretching out and splitting, it can cause you to feel like your "crotch muscles" are painfully sore.
  • YES!!!!  I have been having it on and off since about 12 weeks.  Pitiful!  Then after I get up and walk around, it almost kills me to sit back down.  It's going to be a long12 weeks.  Smile

    This.

  • I have been propping my feet up to help with this. It takes the pressure off my pelvic area. Of course if I sit in this position too long my back starts hurting, there is no easy solution.

    This!

  • Yes! And when I get up to pee at night it is pure agony to try to roll over and get out of bed. A heating pad helps sometimes. My OB said it gets worse with each pregnancy because our bodies stretch earlier since they know what to do. That makes me relieved that we decided this is our last!
