We have tried DD on two different formulas now (Similac Advance and Enfamil Gentlease) and both of them really upset her stomach. The Similac was worse, but she with both she threw up and seemed really uncomfortable about 3-4 hours after eating just a 1/4 ounce.
We're wondering if she might be having trouble with lactose intolerance or a milk protein allergy. I think I'm going to try a non-dairy formula - any suggestions?
Re: non-dairy formula?
We use hypoallergenic formula, Enfamil nutramigen because DS showed allergies to both milk & soy formulas. However, he had blood in his stool with milk formulas. Even on nutramigen when DS was a little younger he spit up a ton (like an ounce at a time) and seemed uncomfortable (was usually gas). Now he seems to be growing out of it.
So I definitely recommend talking to your pedi before you make too big of a switch. Or just try soy first. Nutramigen is super expensive, so if it's not absolutely necessary, I don't recomment switching.
