Starting to think about buying some maternity clothes and wondering: how many of you are still rocking no panel or partial panel bottoms v. full panel?
I like the fully Secret Belly fit panel. They hold your tummy in some and act as a support....sort of. You can also fold it down like the Bella band if they are still a bit to big and it will help hold them up.
I never wore full panel. I hate them. I'm still holding strong with the no panel ones that go under my belly. They are much more comfortable for me because I have a long torso, and on full panel pants, the panel never comes all the way over my bump.
i have been wearing maternity pants since about 12 weeks. then, and now, i do not the full panel. then, my belly wasn't big enough to fill out the panel, now, its to big, haha.
i prefer partial panel, a couple inches thick. those feel the best for me.
that being said, my friend who is 4 weeks ahead of me loves her full panel. to each their own!
I am still rocking the full panel work pants and skirt from Motherhood and they are still really comfy. My jeans have a partial panel, and it kills me now. It isn't really big enough to go across my belly so I try to fold it down and it is really tight and uncomfortable like that. As far as pants in general, my hips have spread more than I realized they would, so they ALL are tight across the hips/bottom of belly, but with only a few weeks left I don't really want to buy anymore. I have found that dresses are my new best friend.
I wear full panel maternity bottoms and have since about 18 weeks. I had to keep pulling them up in the beginning, but they are great now. I have some yoga pants that are no panel and they put too much pressure on my bladder so I don't like them.
Everyone is different and I did not show/need maternity clothing until about 22 weeks. So if I had tried to purchase stuff at 13 weeks, I don't think anything would have worked. As it is, I have had to returned stuff that I figured out that I would not need/wear because of the other clothing I purchased or the change in weather.
I like full panel in some and in the others I have just the waistbands. Buying as I needed has worked best for me. I also have not purchased any item over $30, since it will only be worn about 3 months total.
So far, I can still fit in my prepregnancy jeans with a belly band!! I have been super lucky with this!! I wear the really low rise jeans though which fall right under my belly!

Not me. I'm short-waisted and my LO is so low that those kinds of pants would fall right off of me.
I too am short waisted/have a short rise and had no luck with the full panel pants. My favorite pants are the true waist ones. I don't have as robust a bump as others, but mine still have plenty of room to grow.

I only have two pairs of mat pants...the Secret Fit Belly from Motherhood. To be honest, I hate them and don't wear them. They are too constricting on my tummy and make me nauseous, and when folded down, they slide off my hips and I'm constantly tugging at them.
I have a pair of underbelly lightweight capris from Old Navy that I LOVE! I'm typically a size 6 and I got the smalls, they're still a little big, but they have a drawstring so they work well and they're SUPER comfy!
Other than that, I'm carrying pretty high so I still have 2-3 pairs of ppg pants that will button or fit comfortably with a Bella Band. But to be honest, I'm considering getting a pair of underbelly shorts from Target or Old Navy. I'm tired of wearing jeans in the Florida weather and my ppg shorts are just simply too short.
It depends on the pants. The partial panel works well if the pants perform well. If they don't then, full panel is the way to go. It's hard to know which pants will do what until you're actually wearing them with a belly. I have some partial panel pants that I just have to keep hiking up when I wear them. The full panel is easier to keep up in general but, my favorite pants right now are my roll over top yoga pants. I am still wearing the same ones although I should probably go up a size in the next week or so. Thank you target. If I could just wear those everyday I would be set.
I hate the full panel. My jeans and one pair of work pants have the full panel and it is crazy itchy. I prefer my khakis the Gap that don't have any panel. I can just adjust the pants from the inside - so much more comfy.
I think it just depends on the person/how you're carrying.
I'm carrying low so I hate anything that hits under the belly because it's super uncomfy. I'm loving the full panels but I don't know how I'll feel about them once it gets really hot here...guess we'll soon find out!
Good luck in finding something that works well for you.

I liked the full panel earlier in the pregnancy because the maternity pants without a panel were just too big. Now my belly is too big and it hurts to wear a full panel and I much prefer the ones that sit below my belly.
I started out with full panel just becuase they were so comfy in comparison the the no panel. I can honestly say that for me- No panel would not be an option right now...I think I'd constantly be hauling my pants up
Have fun shopping for maternity clothes! I will say that all of the pants that I bought at the beginning of my pregnancy still fit me- which I was worried about in the beginning. Shirts on the other hand- they're another story...they just seemed to get shorter and shorter and I eventually had to buy the next size up It is crazy how much your belly & boobs will draw your shirts up toward the end of pregnancy!
I'm still able to wear my NY & Co. pants that are not maternity at all. They are their city strech pants (I think). Super comfy.
I find that the full or partial panels pants are still falling off and dont stay up very well (and it's weird because I'm not small). The partial panel on my khaki's bought from JCPenney fit the best.
Starting to think about buying some maternity clothes and wondering: how many of you are still rocking no panel or partial panel bottoms v. full panel?
I hate hate hate (hate!!!) full panel. I've got a big basketball belly that fits just perfectly with the low-rise maternity jean, with the small band at the waist that is just stretchy. It doesn't fall, but has made room for my belly since about 18 weeks, the front drops the more belly you get, but the back of the jeans stay up and support them from falling.
And I love they don't even look like maternity jeans.
I must be in the minority here because I love my full panel pants. I feel like my belly is more supported with them and not just "hanging out there." I don't like the pants that sit below my belly because I feel like they are digging into me and it's really uncomfortable.
At first I just started wearing pants that were a size or two bigger, and then I went I to pants with some elastic on the sides before I went to full panel. Everyone is different. GL!
My girlfriend gave me a full panel pair that I love but I actually always fold them down. I haven't ever worn them up. I also have a pair of the no panel, bellow belly jeans from Old Navy and I hate them. They cut off my circulation. I may have ordered them too small.
Best jeans ever: (the model is wearing something under the jeans, at first it looks like she is wearing full panel but they're not, they are low rise with elastic waist)

I love my full panel pants. I feel like the others fall right off and I'm tugging them up all day. I'm short-waisted also, so if the full-panels are a little loose I can tuck the top underneath the bottom of my bra to hold them up.
I am still wearing a pair that have about a 1.5 inch panel. I am more comfy in the ones that go up about half way. I think because I gained some extra weight on my love handles the short panel ones make me look lumpy on the sides.
I can't stand anything on my belly, so I only wear no panel. I do have a couple half panel & I just fold it down. I'm also short waisted & they work just fine for me.
I loved my full panel pants with my first pregnancy, but this time around I can't get them to stay up to save my life (no matter what the size.) I think I'm just carrying too low. Yesterday I bought some underbelly pants (a PP posted them) and I LOVE them. Up til now, I've just been wearing my "fat" jeans
I love full panel! the below the belly panels roll down when you get bigger... at least they did on my b/c my belly pushed them down. I dont care if I do look like Steve Urkle...
I went to Marshalls and TJ Maxx, bought like 5 pairs of yoga pants. They've worked out great for me. They are all black pairs so they match pretty much everything and the stretchy aspect makes the super comfortable. Now that my belly is getting bigger - I just roll them down so they form right under the belly. Each pair cost me $10. I couldn't fathom paying $40 for a pair of pants I'll only be wearing for a couple months... at least I can rewear the yoga pants after I have the baby.

I have been a lover of the full panel since the beginning. They are so comfortable, do not dig in, and I feel like they just hold me in and support the belly. You can always roll a full panel down too.
I am wearing "demi-panel" jeans from Gap today but they have really been annoying me over the last few weeks, I am constantly tugging them up onto my belly because I don't like them all bunched below. I LOVE my full panel ones soooo much more.

I got over the panels a long time ago. The only pants I wear (if I wear them at all -- I find myself mostly in dresses and yoga pants these days) are the low rise kind (these from old navy -- only $25 right now!)
I actually still wear my pre-preg pants with a belly band. I did buy a pair of Motherhood jeans because some of my zippers were hurting me, I got the partial panel. I would love them if they were smaller. I didn't see an x-small and just got a small, so I have to keep hiking them up (I'm good for a few hours after a fresh wash). I don't think I would like the full panel so much.
I'm trying to avoid all pants at this point and stick with my dresses. I have so many flowy dresses and comfy skirts that I haven't really bought any mat clothes and hope that I don't need to.
As someone who is utterly sick and tired of all her maternity clothes (and my MIL bought me a ton so I think I probably have more than most), wait as long as possible before transitioning over, because after 25 weeks I am sick and tired of these effing clothes.

I have two pairs of full panels that I like - both by Oh Baby by Motherhood (the Kohls brand).
The rest of my pants are demi panel or below the belly style.
I like them both.
