DH and I are pretty sure we won't find out the sex of this baby at the big u/s. I'm off-track next month and that will be our best chance to get the nursery "done" (or at least started), so we'd really like to get it painted, at the very least.
Our idea is to pick a paint color that will go with a "boy" theme or a "girl" one, and then add a wall border and other decorations after the baby is born (since he/she will be in our room the first few months anyway).
My current idea is maybe to paint the room green--like the wall color in the top pic--and then do Turtle Bay for a boy or ladybugs for a girl.
Girl (this is a playroom, not a nursery, but you get the idea):

Boy:

What do you think--is this practical? Other ideas?

LOVE both of them --- and that green would work beautifully with either.
I've always wondered how people handle the whole nursery thing when they don't know the gender --- what a great solution!!!
Thats a great idea! Emi has been in our room so far, so I don't see the rush to have the baby's room ready beforehand.
Let me tell you I am so glad we didn't find out. I can close my eyes and hear my dh whispering, "melis, look. she's a beautiful girl" as the OB put her on my chest. There is nothing like it!
