Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

is it time to judge out of boredom?

if so...

i think its really odd that people don't put new PJs on their kids every night. a few days of the SAME pj's? maybe its that i dont understand the point of re-using them?

(oh, and don't "but they take a bath every night" me. bc so do my kids. i still think its odd).

Re: is it time to judge out of boredom?

  • whatever - I also wear the same pjs a few nights in a row - well most of the time, not now as I'm usually covered in spit-up by morning (he always misses the burp rag in the middle of the night)

  • Funny, because today I was thinking I was odd for actually putting my kids in clean pjs every night. I don't wear clean pj's every night. It's not like they get dirty, with me just lying in bed. So why do I put my kids in clean jammies every night? I'd probably be doing a ton for water conservation if I changed their pajamas every other night.
  • Meh, DS usually wears his pjs twice before I wash them. :)

  • I wear pjs more than once so why wouldn't my kid?  I also wear clothes more than once.

This.  Judge away!  All he's doing is sleeping. I wear my pjs more than once before washing them.  What a waste of water.

Yep, same here! I can't believe there is a whole post dedicated to judging this.

  • Maybe your kids are just sweatier than mine?  They are not at all dirty.  If I did not let DS eat breakfast in his PJs we would use them again, but I do and he is a gross eater.  DD does wear the same things again.  She has preferences.
  • DS is a sweaty sleeper so he gets new pj's every night. I wear new pj's at night too, just because I like the smell of the softener I use. Embarrassed
  • I wear pjs more than once, but for some I put DS in new ones every night. ha. Never really thought about it.

  • I put new ones on ds, but I wear mine for a couple of days.  Don't see the big deal.
  • We do clean pj's every night...but I don't understand how it could be "odd" not to. I don't wear clean pj's every night.

    image

  • Oh, and I think the reason is to cut down on unneccesary laundry.

    image

  • It's becoming clear to me why everyone else (on the bump, anyway) seem to do SO much more laundry than I do! Most people wash things after only wearing them one time or using it one time. Use a towel? Wash it. Wear a shirt? Wash it. I had no idea people did this, truly, until the bump.

I do maybe 3 loads of laundry every 2 weeks. We dont wear dirty clothes, but we wear them more than once- often more than twice. As long as it looks and smells clean (with the exception of socks and underwear!) then it's considered clean and can be put away and worn again.

My kids often wear a pair of pajamas 3 nights in a row, put them away, wear a different pair for 2 nights, then wear the other pair for one night. Judge me!!

(fyi- this board needs some drama, so I am all for this post)

LOL - yeah, I get that, I guess I mean I find it hard to believe that it's become quite a conversation! We must all really be bored.

hahaha yeah you win. i need to start to sucking it up. i do laundry ALL the time. sometimes i have to put clothes back into their closet bc they wore it on monday, i washed it, and they want to wear it on wednesday. lol its clean, but i think "you just wore that!!"

if they wear it - it goes into the wash. just bc its likely taken off downstairs and therefore gets thrown into the laundry room.

  • DD has so many pj's that I do change her pj's everynight. When I did not have as many she wore the same pj's two nights in a row. After all she just sleeps in them and i normally change her clothes first thing in the morning!
  • Meh, I also judge people who have had threesome's, but whatever!

Now, for DS's clothes...I have to wash most of his stuff every time he wears it b/c he gets food or something all over it.  :)  PJs, nah...he sleeps in it for while then I put him in his day clothes.  Unless Monks, Ducky or Bear pee on him in the middle of the night, he's good!

  • We all wear pj's more than once, even the baby (he doesn't spit very often-but when he does, he gets new pj's).  It saves me from having to do laundry every week.  I wash regular clothes after one wear, except for jeans and hoodies (unless they're dirty).

    same here.
  • i wear jeans 2-3 times before washing, PJs until they are visibly dirty or smelly, and we use towels 3 times or so before they go in the wash.  DS clothes usually only last one wearing, but his PJs last longer.and i DON'T always bathe my kid every night - oh the horror!

  • i can't sleep without new clothes on either.  when h and i were dating and i would, um, sleep anywhere, it drove me INSANE to sleep in the same clothes.

she gets new pjs every night, and they have to match. because i'm crazy.

If you want to come over and do my laundry for me, I'll gladly put new pj's on DS every night. Until then, he can deal with the same pj's for 2-3 nights. AND I don't give him a bath every night. ::clutches pearls:: Surprise
