3rd Trimester

Is anyone else sensitive to sounds?

I've noticed that from the middle of my 2nd trimester on that I have been super sensitive to sounds. The tv and stereo mainly. Commercials and bass make my head throb. Dh and I are in the truck right now on the way from SC to IN to see his parents and also for my baby shower. I asked him to turn the volume down on the stereo and also turn down the bass on his sub. We've been in the car 2 hours so far and my head is already throbbing and my ears are ringing! Am I the only one?

Re: Is anyone else sensitive to sounds?

  • Oh no!  sorry you are stuck in the car, hopefully DH will turn everything down so you can have a peacful drive!

I have had this too, I thought it was just my lack of patience with everything lately, lol...the commercials on tv when they come blaring on make me scream!  DH has learned to hit mute when commercials happen!  LOL

    good luck on the drive!

  • I am fine with reasonable noice.  However, my LO reactions to sounds more than I do.  She often kicks and turns when the tv and or laptop volume is too loud.  What I do is I try to cover my belly so she can rest while she can.  =)

     Have fun at your shower!

  • Yes! DH thinks I'm nuts. He's bummed because he's seriously into music and I'm always asking him to turn it down and/or change it to something mellow. I thought I was the only one. ;)
  • I've been like this too recently. DH says I'm developing "mom ears".

  • I've always been sensitive to noise, but lately it's like I have super hearing and everything annoys the crap out of me.  Especially the stupid commercials on tv.  I just want to b!tchslap the idiots who come up with them.

I get startled by loud/sudden sounds really easily. Alarmingly easily. Yes, it's odd.
