1st Trimester

Spotting....normal?

Hi Everyone!

I tested yesterday and found out that I am pregnant with my second child.  A little nervous today because I have soreness in uterus area that comes and goes.  Nothing like menstral cramps, but occasional soreness throughout the day.  I also noticed today that there was a small spot of brownish tinted blood when I went to the bathroom (nothing bad, but something that I might experiance the day before my period).  I'm not due to start my period until Monday.  Was just wondering if any of you experianced slight cramping when you finally got your BFP or if this is what they may call implantation spotting.

If anyone could respond if you've experianced anything like this I would really appreciate it!

 Thanks so much  =)

Re: Spotting....normal?

  • With my first pregnancy I never had cramping.

With this pregnancy I had cramping before I even tested and had cramping until about 6 weeks. I have also had spotting on and off. Went in to see the Dr and everything is A OK.

It seems that a lot of first tri gals are experiancing the same thing. Even so I would mention to your OB either when you call to set up your first appointment or when ever you go in just so they know everything that is going on.

  • Texas - thanks so much.  I know no one here can reassure me one way or the other...just looking to see if someone had similar reactions to being pregnant.  My first preg. was so easy - no cramping/bleeding or anything.  So of course, anything different strikes a little panic.  Glad to hear that things are A OK with you.

Thanks for the reply  Big Smile

  • I had spotting at 9dpo ----about the size of nickel-quarter, pinkish-brown and only one time.

Anything after a bfp, I would contact my dr. Although it can be common to spot during pregnancy, it can also be signs of other issues. If you contact ur dr early enough some of it can be preventative with medications. I would probably contact my dr. asap and have them do bw. JMO.
