Gallbladder u/s on Thurs

in 2nd Trimester

I have been having super sharp painful pains in my lower ribs/upper abdomen on my right side for about week now. So my dr. is sending me for an ultrasound of my gallbladder. 

The appointment is at 11:20am and I can't eat anything after midnight the night before!!! I am going to die of hunger!

Ok not really, but it's going to be rough. I wonder if I can drink water? I forgot to ask.

    I just went through the exact same thing in the same spot. ?They couldn't find anything wrong. ?A few days later LO was kicking up a storm in that spot & has been ever since (about 3 weeks?) ?So the Dr. thinks LO was just beating me up in that spot or it was growing pains. ?I'm glad I got the u/s though, it gave me peace of mind. ?GL!

    I had my gallbladder out when I was 18 years old and they did ultrasounds on it and I don't remember having to fast for them.
    Hopefully your gallbadder is okay, my attacks were SEVERE and the surgeon said that he has done over 1000 gallbladder removals and not one of them were as scarred and full of gallstones than mine was.  I have heard that gallbladder attacks are very very common in pregnancy, but that does not make them any easier to deal with!  Good luck, bring a snack to your appointment for after!! (And I would think that water would be fine, but I'd call and ask them!)

    Thanks for your kind words ladies! I just left a message asking about water/liquids. 

    These episodes are extremely painful. They come out of nowhere and leave me doubled over in pain. I also get really hot and nauseous. They only last 15-20 seconds but it's awful. I almost dropped DD the other day when one happened.

    But it hasn't happened since Saturday, so I am hoping whatever it is is clearing up on it's own.
