Yesterday on Say Yes to the Dress the groom's name was Cannan, pronounced Cane-en. What do you think of the name? I don't know if I love it or hate it.
I feel like it would would be mispronounced all.the.time as Cannon.
I thought of the Camera company first thing when I saw it, so deffinitly spell it right. Not sure if it makes me like it any better though
A lot of years and a million tears finally led me to you.
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

I definitely thought it was pronounced Cannon when I read the topic. I don't think you could spell it in a way that people would know it's Cane-en. I don't like it because of that.
Married 12/8/07 | Sleeve Gastrectomy 10/19/09
BFP#1 DD born 3/9/11 | BFP#4 DD born 9/20/13
BFP#2 6/21/12, M/C at 5w2d | BFP#3 11/27/12, M/C at 6w6d
That spelling looks like Can-on to me. I love the name but I would spell it Canaan (the biblical spelling).
Married 5/31/08 * TTC#1 9/09 - 2/11 after anovulatory diagnosis and TTC for 1 1/2yrs with several medicated cycles and one chemical pregnancy, we have our first bundle of joy!

I don't take one single minute for granted.
Re: What do you think of Cannan?
That's what I was thinking, maybe spelling it differently would make it better.

I agree that spelled correctly it would be much better.
My first thought was "Cannon"
Lol.
No, actually it "should" be spelled Canaan - not that I'm advocating you or anyone else name their child this.
In other words, nms.
Ditto. I also thought of the Cannon Ink jet printer and other such products. NMS.

It makes me think of New Canaan, Connecticut.
Which is a very affluent suburb where many Wall Street types live.
So, it makes me think of an uptight finance person...not a baby.
Ditto, except it's really not a mispronunciation. It's the proper way to spell that collection of letters they jumbled together.
Canaan is how you get Cane-in.
OOps! Yes, you're right. That's totally what I meant. I knew the double 'a' was in there somewhere!

I don't think the name is too bad, but spelled that way it's awful... It should be Caanan.
*ETA: oops, meant Canaan.
