We arent expecting a boy but if we were to have had one we had planned on having him circumsized. Honestly I think uncircumsized looks a little weird/gross? SO is circumsized so we had just agreed thatd be the way it was.. Theres no real medical reason for it so its up to personal choice..
ETA: I had heard its easier to keep clean if it is circumsized too but I dont know, I dont have a penis
yes, we are definitely having LO circumcized... I guess I hadn't even thought of not doing it, it seems cleaner and easier for him, and less of a potential social issue down the road...
I guess we're in the minority here, because we're most definitely NOT. DH made the decision, and he considers it maiming a baby. If the kid wants to or needs to have it done later, we'll worry about it then.
Yes, yes, yes! I've always thought uncircumsized was unattractive - I don't want to put my son through that. Plus the hubby is jewish, so kinda goes along with the territory.
We are having a boy and yes we are having him circumsized. I guess we never even thought of not having it done. It was something we just assummed we were doing once we saw it was a boy.
If we end up having a boy, we won't be getting it done. Where my DH is from originally (Peru) that's not their custom and he doesn't think it's necessary.

I agree whole-heartedly which is why my first didn't have it done. I think it's natural and you don't mess with nature.
This time around, my DH and I are not agreeing on it whatsoever (my first DS is from a previous marriage).
I got tired of arguing it, I dropped it for now. I'll bring it up again when we start interviewing pediatricians next month. But DH has strong opinions about his son looking like him.
We will definitely get a circumcision if we have a boy. My hubby is so grateful that his parents had it done when he was a baby because he couldn't imagine how much it would hurt now that he's a big boy! LOL
DH and I decided we will not circumcise. He is not circumsized and its never been an issue for him and as PP'er stated, its a personal decision and not medically necessary.
Yes we will be getting this done. After I watched a video of one I had some serious doubts for a while. But my cousins 2 little boys (4 and 7) never had it done as babies and then began to have some problems because of it. They had an AWFUL time recovering. So for that reason, we will be getting LO's done because I would rather him have it done as a baby and not remember any pain involved.
We will also be doing it. DH did a TON of research when I told him I wanted him to decide since he has those parts and I don't He just felt it would be better all the way around for everyone.. but its a total personal opinion thing.
BTW - there is no issue of one being "cleaner" over the other. You are clean if you bath, you aren't if you don't. It's that simple.
Also, there will be issues with boys who have been circ'd and issues with those who haven't. I will not be going by any stories, because I feel there have been complications on both sides of the fence. So far, my husband nor my DS have ever had any problems with not being crc'd.
As far as it being aesthetically pleasing to the eye, well - I just don't feel that is enough of a reason (for our family) to have it done.

Absolutely - for many reasons. Want him to look like Daddy, it is a cultural thing, also we are Christian so we know we don't need to circumcise our baby in order for him to have a covenant with God but we respect that Jewish practice.

Re: If you're expecting a boy...
Probably.
DH wants to, and I left it up to him.

They usually do it before baby leaves the hospital I was told.. I think some may even use some kind of local anesthetic to numb the area also..
NO WAY!
If anyone comes anywhere near my baby's privates with a knife you will hear about what happened on the evening news.
