Yeah, cause I'm that stupid

I just got a call on my cell phone (it's 10pm here) saying that my debit card from Sun East Credit union was deactivated. I don't have a card from that bank, so out of curiosity, I kept listening. About 10 seconds in, the recording asked me to enter my 16 digit card number. Are people really this stupid?

    They must be or those scams wouldn't exist, right?  I think the same thing about the Craigslist scams.

    I once got a call like that from Discover.  DH and I have perfect credit and he's super careful about paying bills early.  They called me and said we had missed a payment and wanted me to confirm our account # and info.  We'd never gotten anything in the mail about it.  I said no way and hung up, and nobody called back.  I called Discover later to be sure our account info hadn't been messed up, and they acted like I was the idiot for not just giving my info to some random caller who said they were with them.  Turned out DH had made a mistake, but they said calls like that were their standard practice.  So dumb.
