Yeah, cause I'm that stupid

I just got a call on my cell phone (it's 10pm here) saying that my debit card from Sun East Credit union was deactivated. I don't have a card from that bank, so out of curiosity, I kept listening. About 10 seconds in, the recording asked me to enter my 16 digit card number. Are people really this stupid?

  • They must be or those scams wouldn't exist, right?  I think the same thing about the Craigslist scams.

  • LOL! Don't you love that?

You just won $1,000,000 ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS... Give me your bank account information.

  • I once got a call like that from Discover.  DH and I have perfect credit and he's super careful about paying bills early.  They called me and said we had missed a payment and wanted me to confirm our account # and info.  We'd never gotten anything in the mail about it.  I said no way and hung up, and nobody called back.  I called Discover later to be sure our account info hadn't been messed up, and they acted like I was the idiot for not just giving my info to some random caller who said they were with them.  Turned out DH had made a mistake, but they said calls like that were their standard practice.  So dumb.
