I hope none of our Nestie's friends or family members work there.
JEC and I have friends who work at the church there. I know one of the guys who works at the Echelon bldg., since we use it for some of our church classes. I just hope everyone is OK.

Which building is the Echelon building? MH works at mopac and 183, but I don't know the name of his building, and he is not answering the phone. Google isn't helping. Hello heart attack.

They're the dark mirrored buildings across 183 from the Arboretum shops (Crate & Barrel, etc.).

Someone said it was building 1 of the Echelon complex. It looks like a 3 or 4-story building with lots of glass. It's off of Jollyville right at the 183 S and Mopac interchange.
I hope your DH is okay!!! Keep us posted please.
ETA: The buildings look really black on the news.

I heard from two people in the church office that they are all ok, but they don't know any details of what's going on.
Oh wow, that is right next to where my office used to be. In fact, our company's servers are still located there, and might explain why they keep going down. Oh, I hope everyone is OK!
It's only about a mile from my building. You can see the smoke. So, so sad. And so scary to think that the plane could have crashed into ANY building in this area.... :-(
I am watching the coverage on CNN right now, and it's just so scary and so sad. I hope and pray that everyone is OK. Is the one unaccounted for person the only one they don't know about it? Does that mean that everyone else survived? Or do they not know?
KLBJ just said that TSA is suspecting it was an "act of intentional violence". I really hope they are just saying that to cover all possible angles and that it is NOT true.

MSNBC said on their newscast (I'm hearing this 2nd person) that the pilot torched his own home this morning (there was a major fire at a home in NW Austin this morning).

Woa. I haven't heard that yet. FBI is saying they believe it was an accidental crash. Plane hit low though - on second floor without trying to stop. So the pilot either was unconcious or it was intentional. CNN is saying the plane took off from Georgetown.
From CNN.com posted at 11:03:Cynthia Reed, who works in the building next to the one hit, told CNN she saw people who apparently were trapped. "They were hanging out the windows, screaming for help," she said.
I pray that this is not true and just someone looking for attention.

Apparently my SIL works in the building next door. My brother just posted this on his FB page:
"Wife just called and said a plane crashed into the building next door to her office... explosion shook her building. Apparently the building that got hit was an FBI building... FBI is evacuating her building right now."
Re: Small plane crashed into Echelon building
One of the eyewitnesses is saying the pilot was not taking evasive measures..
I wonder if the pilot was incapacitated or something?
How terrible.

HOLY S! (there goes my not cursing for Lent)... I used to drive by there every day when we lived in the Arboretum.
That is terrifying, I hope no one was hurt. Wow.
ETA: it could have been really bad, too, if it crashed on either of the highways.

Baby C and I were just there yesterday. Shudder.
Thanks for the links. I finally got ahold of him, and it is not his building.
I hope everyone is okay.
Thank goodness.
