Should we report this daycare???

Ok, I'm disturbed right now. We own 1/2 a duplex (I guess it's called a condex).  The last neighbors next door bought her parents house and moved there and then rented out their 1/2.  It ended up in forclosure and they lost their 1/2.

At her parents house, they built a daycare right next door (on the same property), the husband and wife are owners and I know that at least she works there PT (nto sure if he actually works there anymore but he did in the beginning).

Long story short, I've been having issues with this foreclosed property having an impact on us financially becuase we share some bills.  I randomly did a google search on his name and up popped basically a porn site that he owns with HIM dressed as a woman (yes, I need to bleach my brain).  It is definitely him.  Both DH and I think it is totally skeevy and the fact that he owns a daycare totally creeps us out.  DH thinks we should report this to someone.  There is nothing on the website about children so since it does not involve children is it just skeevy or something that should be reported?

What would you think if this guy owned your daycare?  Should we report it?

Re: Should we report this daycare???

  • Ew.

I guess technically, he's not doing anything unlawful.

    But, ew.

  • EWW!!! I would not want my kids at that daycare.

However, unless the porn is illegal, what are they going to do?

  • I also wouldn't want my kids at this daycare. With that being said, a parent should do their research before choosing a place- you said it yourself that this was revealed with a simple google search.

It may not be your cup of tea, but I think you should MYOB.

  • What exactly are you reporting? You would have to report a violation of some sort.

Being a crossdresser, on a porn site, as skeevy as it is, isn't illegal.

  • Nope, you are allowed to own a porn business and a daycare.  Don't think I would send my kids there is a quick google search turned up that, but its not illegal.  I bet it is not even all that uncommon for a business man to own an adult business and a daycare.

This is what I think too.  DH was the one who said we should report it.

  • LOL- CBK I just glanced at your siggy and for a second I totally thought your kids were named Kevin June and Keira February.
  • Jersery - yeah I could see that.  I really need to fix that, I've been meaning to for a while.  Wow, if I named my son Kevin June he would not be happy, Keira February probably wouldn't be so bad though.  LOL
  • interesting the ewww i wouldn't send my children there comments and the it's perfectly legal comments hand in hand.  meaning: i wouldn't send my own and i might have a problem with keeping my mouth shut about my discovery.  it being legal and all why not share the good news?

my problem is with/for the unknowing parents who send their children there.  i mean they probably didn't think to google the owner's name.  is he an actual childcare worker there?

and i'm just gonna say that i do not care how legal it is i don't want a crossdressing porn site owner to care for my kids.  is he doing the caring? if he doesn't step a spike-heeled foot on the premises then i guess it doesn't matter.

  • The house he lives in is on the same piece of property as the daycare (right next door) and he owns the daycare so I'm guessing he is there at times.  I know he worked there when they 1st opened it but I'm not sure if he does anymore.  They opened the place like 3 years ago.
  • then i'd have a problem keeping my mouth closed.  anyone can flame away if they must, just don't let me know about your daycare business and icky internet freak show, because i'd out ya to anyone i knew who had daycare age kids.

  • I'd report it to the daycare licensing agency. There may be a law (city, county or state) that says an adult oriented business can't be within a certain radius of a daycare. Let the licensing agency sort it out. It can probably be done anonymously.
