It's a family name for us, and has been my girl name for years and years. Now that we're having a girl, it's super popular. Argh. It's starting to die out, right?

Re: Is Emma still so popular??
Sadly, no, it's not dying out
I feel the same about the name Emma.
Last time I checked it was the # 1 girl name on the list for 2009.
I feel the same way about Emma and Ella. My faves until recent popularity.
after anovulatory diagnosis and TTC for 1 1/2yrs with several medicated cycles and one chemical pregnancy, we have our first bundle of joy!

I don't take one single minute for granted.
Still very popular. Over the past 20 years is has gone from #151 to #1 according the Social Security Administration website.
Also according the SSA, in 2008 Emma was #3 in PA, #6 in NJ, and #5 in DE. Since you're a Philly area gal, I thought I'd give you the tri-state breakdown.
Honestly though, if it is a family name, I say go for it. It is still a great name.

I think if it has special meaning to you - who cares if it's popular?
Go for it!
