  I use seventh generation powder with Earth Friendly Products Wave Jet rinse aid. In my experience it seems to be the rinse aid that makes all the difference. I have also used Method dishwasher tablets and like them too, but they are more expensive and you get less loads.

  Buy Lemi-Shine!  I found it one day and OMGosh, thank heavens.
  

  You can use it with any detergent and it makes your dishes come out crystal clear.  It is all natural (citric stuff) and you won't need a rinse agent

  Until I found it, everything came out cloudy, no matter the detergent I tried.

  If I'm feeling bored, I might add some vinegar to my rinse cycle, but I haven't done that in months.  No need with Lemi-Shine.

  I use my detergent and about 1/2 tablepoon of lemi-shine right with the detergent.

  I use the 7th Generation tablets and like a lot.  I have hard water, so I think I may try to find Lemi Shine, otherwise I just add vinegar if I remember.

  We have used the 7th Gen powder and it's fine,  but then we tried Mrs. meyer's and was blown away.  Crystal clear!  And a little goes a long way so the price doesn't seem so steep.  Only thing with Mrs. Meyer's is that it is very fragrant.  We have the geranium and the whole main floor will smell like it when the dishwasher is running.
