Re: Since being pregnant have you...

  • nope, but I am not a beer drinker anyway, and don't like most wines either.

  • Ive had a sip here and there of wine

Last pregnancy I had a 1/2 glass of red wine twice in my 3rd tri but didnt even finish it bc it just felt weird

  • I had a glass of red at Christmas dinner and a small glass of champaigne at New Years.....  I don't plan on really having any more alcohol though.  In retrospect I kinda feel guilty about the wine I drank.....
  • I've had a few sips of my husband's wine, and from time to time I've helped myself to a shotglass of it.  Stick out tongue  Not in awhile though, as we haven't bought any red recently (on the plus side, our Total Wine bill has gone WAY down!).

  • I have not.

My personal opinion (for myself) is I can wait 10 months to have a drink.

  • No I haven't. I think it might be OKAY to have A GLASS of wine at the end of your pregnancy. I just don't think drinking through your pregnancy would be a wise decision.

  • Definitely have not. I would not allow my baby to have a sip of wine after it is born, so why would I do it while he's in utero?
  • I've had an occasional sip of DH's drink and maybe in 3rd tri I'll have a small glass at my shower

    This.

  • No, I have noticed the scent of alcohol turns my stomach so it's been easy not to drink. I have become slightly obcessed with Shirley temples, DH cracks up everytime I have one.
  • I had a sip of DH's beer, I'm not a beer person and it tasted SO good!  But that's it!
  • Nope!  But I have had tiramisu for dessert on Christmas eve and I loved every bite!  (for those who don't know there is a rum syrup in the cake and it's not cooked)

  • I had a glass of champagne on new years, and take a sip of DHs beer every now and again and don't feel one bit guilty about it since its hardly having my own :) That said, I won't crack a beer or have a glass of wine to myself because I just don't crave it. I'm way more likely to splurge on a Dt Coke because I'd enjoy it way more.

  • My doc said its perfectly safe to have a glass everyonce in a while. I have like 3 glasses in the last 2 months. Usually dont finish the glass and give it to the DH cuz it makes my mouth dry  but those first couple sips have been yummy.

  • No.  I wasn't a drinker before becoming pg anyway, though.  Just don't like how it tastes... and even if I had been a drinker before, I wouldn't drink while pregnant, no matter how many people say it's "okay".  *eye roll*

  • No, but I am not a huge wine drinker (which is okay).  With DS, I had wine the night we got engaged (I was less than a week away from my due date).

  • Not yet, but I'm just in the 2nd Tri now.  When I get further along I might ask my OB what she thinks....and then have a glass of wine anyway.  :)

  • I'm kind of saving my glass of wine time for 3rd tri. I plan on having one every now and then (a small one) once I am feeling really uncofmortable. I did have a half glass of champagne on Xmas eve which was also my wedding night.
  • I'll be the bad mommy here!!!  Yes, I have had a few glasses of wine... did so with my last also.  In my doctors opinion, it is perfectly safe to have a glass, (once a night if I wanted).  As he stated, in most countries it is perfectly normal to have wine through a pregnancy and it is not looked down on -- but as he also stated, you cannot tell some women you can have a glass a night, because in turn it would become 2 or 3.  I have had maybe 3 since getting pregnant.  Yes, call me a bad mommy, shun me, look down on me -- etc etc etc.  It is a personal choice....
  • I had a half glass of red wine 2 days after Thanksgiving. At that time, I did not know I was pregnant! :o) Otherwise I would have declined. It just doesn't feel right (even though studies show some is okay) to drink wine while pregnant.

  • No way.  And my doctor says that no amount is considered safe.  I don't see what the big deal is about giving it up.

  • I haven't yet, but in another few weeks I will probably start having a drink every now and then. I didn't with my first two pregnancies (had sips here and there), but I guess I just feel more relaxed this time? Plus I know that it's "OK" every now and then.

  • Nope, no alcohol.. the smell actually turns me off right now.  I wasn't a big drinkier anyway.

  • I have had a few sips at Christmas.
  • No and I don't plan to. I know the chances of something happening from a sip or two here and there are probably slim, I can't see risking our baby.  I can wait 10+ months with no problem.

  • I have had a total of three glasses of wine throughout the pregnancy.  Hardly seems worth it to only have one glass a week, ya know?

    Yes. Shirley Temples are *divine*.

  • I have had a few sips of wine, but for some reason it just doesn't taste "right" to me right now.  I personally see nothing wrong with an occasional small glass of wine or beer...

Rolling my eyes right back at you :)  If my doctor says it's okay to have a small glass, then I will tend to believe her over some girl on the internet.

Me too! My doctor also said it is ok. Didn't have any in 1st tri and have had probably 2 glasses so far during 2nd tri. My dr is okay with it, I am comfortable with it, and so is DH. Pre-pregnancy it was common for us to have wine with dinner so it is great to return to that occasionally.

  • None.  I will smell the beer or wine my husband is drinking and it does not appeal to me.  I have not smelled any margaritas because I know I would want one.  I have a very low tolerance and would rather be safe than sorry.  I miss my Flonase and acne medicine much more than alcohol at this point. (And I snuck a small bit of my acne medicine this week as if I was sneaking alcohol.)

  • I had like 5 sips of champagne at a celebratory dinner a few weeks ago.  Other than that, I haven't.  I'm not desperately craving it, so I don't really care.

    Yes All of this.

    This.

  • Last time, I went to 3 weddings while pregnant and had half a glass of wine at each. I fully intended to drink the whole glass but really just wanted the taste of it and felt guilty finishing. DD is fine.

This time, I had one glass of wine at our anniversary dinner and one glass of champagne at New Year's. Once or twice I've had a sip of DH's drink.

  • DH has a mini home beer brewery in the basement so I'll have a sample sip when he comes up with a new recipe, but half the time they don't turn out too well so I spit it out :)
