3rd Trimester

My furbaby is stealing things? hahah

Every night DH puts his wallet and keys on the night stand before bed. The other day, they were both on the floor, which is odd because unless someone knocked them off, they wouldn't have fallen..

Well last night, DH stacked his clothes next to the bed and put his wallet and keys on top. I got up to go to the bathroom around 3am and noticed the dog had something under his paws. I tried to get it and he kept covering it up. I moved him and found DH's wallet under him! Then, this morning, DH couldn't find his keys and I jokingly said, "Check under the dog!" Sure enough, he took DH's keys too.

What the heck is up with my dog stealing DH's things?!! lol

  • I had a cat that liked to knock everything off the table and counters. If it didn't weigh more than her or wasn't bolted down she would swat it off. She did it for no apparent reason other than she could.

Animals are really funny like that.

  • Trying to get attention?

We know our dog is feeling that he's needing more attention when he takes one of our shoes and runs with it.  It's a chase game that he loves.  He's never chewed up a shoe, so it's all about getting the attention for it.

Come to think of it, he's also taken things he knows he shouldn't have and has hidden them underneath his paws.  I know if he's laying down and just staring at me, something's wrong - usually, something he's done.

  • Lol it's really weird. He's never done it before and he's only taking DH's things.

Yeh that's what I was thinking. He's definitely an AW. I don't know how much more attention I can give him! I'm a SAHW until the baby gets here and I'll be a SAHM.. So it's just the dog and me all day. We snuggle up and watch movies, we play fetch, he's my whole world right now. My mom says he probably knows the baby is coming.

  • We had accidentally left the nursery door open and my dog decided to steal things out of there. I was on the couch dozing off and DH was in the kitched washing dishes (he's awesome). I happened to open my eyes for a little bit and all of the stuffed animals from his room were piled on the living room floor. She didn't do anything with them, but move them to the living room from the nursery.
  • Someone got us a stuffed fabric book with a little stuffed teddy bear attached to it. Our westie likes to steal it off of the bookcase, take it downstairs and put it under the dining room table. After the second time crawling under the table to get the book, I put it on a higher shelf that he can't get to.  He hasn't touched a thing since!  Big Smile

  • Haha these are funny stories. I've never heard of anything like it before. I know dogs hide bones and food and treats and stuff, but wallets and keys?! It's really funny, but I'm afraid he's gonna bury DH's keys or something and he won't be able to find them. It'd be entertaining, but DH isn't a morning person and I'd rather not listen to him while he searches for his keys at 5am. Looks like I'm gonna have to start hiding things from the dog. haha
