Pregnant after a Loss

Well, THAT didn't go according to plan...(botched appt)

So much for seeing the baby today! Couldn't get out of school before 3:05 no matter how hard I tried, and the appointment was at 3:30. Broke several speed limits trying to get to the appointment on time, assuming that if I was a few minutes late that would be ok, as long as I wasn't really late. Got up to the doctor's office and.......

Nope. They claimed I was 11 minutes late (by the time they checked the clock against my appointment) and was too late to be seen, as they had one other appointment scheduled after me, who could've blown her appointment but was on time. Let's try to ignore the fact that the past 2 appointments they have kept us waiting for 40-60 minutes while the midwife in question wandered back in forth in front of the room, checking the chart, gabbing with the nurses, etc. (I heard her outside so I know she was wandering)

So now I have to wait until Tuesday, which is also my birthday, for my NT Scan. I have to make sure I'm not a second late because lord knows what will happen next.

Who's super pissed and paranoid that this is the start of something bad? This girl. :-(

  • Oh no!!! That really stinks! It seems like they could have been a little more flexible, it was just 11 minutes. I'm sorry :(

  • I would be pissed that B.S... 11 minutes late, seriously? give me a break, I would have demanded that they see me.

  • I agree with nikkicole! I mean how many times is a dr's office on time anyways?  Everytime I go to my OB I am usually waiting for almost an hour after my scheduled time...

  • I'm sorry...I know my doctor's office has the same policy.  Can't be 10 minutes late.  Although they always keep DH and I waiting at least 20 to 30 minutes.  The last time I was late though, I did call and say that I was going to be 10 minutes late and they said it was fine.  I'm sure your LO is fine and he/she will be even bigger next week!

I wish I had had my phone, although I don't think they would've done anything to help me...

I'm trying to convince myself that just because they wouldn't see me doesn't mean there's anything at all wrong with the baby, and that this'll just be a good birthday present........still so irritated though.

  • Don't worry that this is the start of something bad....your baby is JUST FINE in there.  And maybe it's meant to be...your baby wanted to give you a birthday present!  :-)

I'm sorry you didn't get in today.  It kind of makes me wonder about my appointment though.  I'm scheduled at 2:30 when I go in, and I know that I won't leave work until about 1:45.

Hey sweetie. THanks for the words of encouragement, I'm trying to talk myself out of being paranoid.

If your midwife's office is as douchy as mine, you may want to leave NOW just in case..... seriously you're probably fine leaving at 1:45. For Tuesday I have a meeting at 2:30, but I'm going to tell them that I HAVE to be out the door by 2:45 to make my appointment.

  • Ooohhhh....I was SO mad when you told me about this! I even called my hubby and ranted to him about it.

DO NOT take it as a bad sign of things to come. Take it as a sign of the office's inflexibility!

    Love you!
