I started spotting last night. Of course I was nervous and scared, but I told myself this was normal.
This morning I was still spotting, but bright red, so I called my doctor. She ordered a blood draw, and my hcg and progesterone are too low to be viable. I'm really upset and DH isn't going to take this well...
I was tested a month ago and my progesterone was very low, so maybe that is the cause (if there is a cause to pinpoint). I'm hopeful that my doctor will put me on progesterone after I ovulate to help my numbers. Has anyone done this?
Re: : ( low hcg and prog
I'm so sorry.
I am on progesterone--I take it after ovulation for 14 days (unless BFP, in which case I continue taking it). I have no idea if it would help you, but worth asking your doctor about.
Thanks.
I spoke with a nurse and I asked if this might be a possibility to get my numbers up, but she didn't want to promise anything. My first prenatal appointment is next week, and they're letting me keep it, so I'll definitely ask about the progesterone again.
for sure ask. While im still going through my miscarriage now i did talk to the dr. about the next time we get pregnant. Since my progesterone was low too (5.3 for 19DPO) he said the next time we get pregnant. he is running the levels ASAP and if the levels are low he is putting me on the supplements. If it will help, he doesn't know, but he said it wont hurt anything, so may as well try.
I wish you the best of luck!

I am so sorry for your loss ((Hugs)) Hopefully the progesterone will help.
Just curious... what is considered a normal level for progesterone? I am having mine checked 7 days after I "O" this month (so my lab draw is most likely at the end of next week). TIA!

I had low progesterone and miscarried in July. I got a BFP in December and my dr. immediately prescribed progesterone supplement and I just had my 9 week ultrasound today...everything is great.
I would suggest talking to you dr about a supplement.
