Toddlers: 24 Months+

Would you take a 8 month old to a hotel with a water park?

My whole family is going to a hotel with an indoor waterpark (they have a baby/toddler area) and my sisters friend just couldn' t believe that I was taking carly and my sister was taking her little girl who is also 8 months. Okay seriously?? I mean they both are little fish and love the water....why would we not take them? I mean its not like I can stick her in the closet for the weekend...lol.

  • I don't see any problem with you taking her at all. What were her reasons?  And also...this place sounds awesome! Where is it?

  • Heck ya!  As soon as the water parks open here we are taking the girls to the kiddy area.  S is will 1 by then though.. but I would do it now! Especially if it's inside and don't have to worry about sunburns!
  • Kalahari! I am so excited, haven't been there but am so ready to go away for the night. Both B and C will have a blast!!! They both LOVE to swim!

And I have NO idea why she thought it was a bad idea...i guess she just dont think its a place for 8 month olds...no idea....lol. But my sister said she sounded disgusted that we were taking them and it was an absolutely absurd idea.

  • Honestly, I think dealing with an infant at one of these things would be easier than dealing with a toddler!

Overall, though, they're called "family resorts" for a reason -- they're set up for people with kids!  I think that would be a fun vacation with little ones!

    DS, born 8/25/04 -- 7th grade
  • Why not?  I'm pretty sure DD wasn't much older than that when we took her for the first time. She loves water and had a blast and we had fun with her.
  • M was in the water at 4 mos! and Ash almost the same!  They LOVE the water!  You will have a BLAST!!!
  • We got a membership to the local indoor waterpark when my daughter was 8 months. She liked it then and loves it now. For us it was like getting a pool membership with many extras. There are always a handful of babies in diapers when we are there, so you definitely will not be out of place.
  • You are going to be there, so what's the big deal? It's not like you are going to plop the kids on floats and go to the bar. Whatever, have a GREAT time!

I'm not? They do have a swim up bar. lol. Kidding. I know. Both Dh and i will be there, as well as my parents and all of my siblings/inlaws (so another 6 adults....).

  • Of course! I bet the little ones will be a lot easier to watch than 2 yos!
