Babies: 0 - 3 Months

My effing nightmare is back, how am I going to do this?

The colic is back, I knew I'd jinx myself, you stupid a$$ why did you have to make the claim that it was finally gone.... I just don't know what to do, had to get this off my chest (the whole update is on my blog) I'm completely devastated right now and I just let LO CIO for 8 minutes and I bawled the entire time with him but he finally stopped and went to sleep.... oh dear god when is this going to end.....

  • Dude, I am so sorry. I can't remember, does Holden have reflux? Maybe his meds need to be upped. Kingston acted like that when he out grew his Zantac dose.

  • I'm really sorry! I hope it gets better soon! I read your blog and I feel incredibly awful for you!
  • he does and I never thought of that... we actually took him off of his meds during the week that everything was perfect and he was amazing, once he started fussing again I started giving him the Prevacid again but he's just getting worse. Maybe I'll ask the pedi about that

  • God that so sucks. I feel your pain though. I know what it's like to just want to beat your head against a wall (and it feels like you have been for about 18 hours straight) and it feels so isolating, robbing, devastating and hopeless. Sometimes it feels like my chest is going to cave in. I've heard it gets easier and 'better', but when the hell are we going to get ours huh?! I guess I have no words of advice, just know you're not alone.

  • **hugs**

I just read your blog. I'm so so sorry, hun! And as much as you don't want to burden the people asking to help, even just taking an hour or two for yourself will do wonders, I promise!

  • Just commented on your blog post.  Right Hug <---lots of these sent your way!
  • I am so sorry....but please know that it is in no way shape or form your fault.

  • I'm so sorry to hear that his colic is back. Sending lots of hugs your way!
  • I am so sorry!  ((((hugs))))
  • I can't even imagine. I am so sorry.

I really do think you guys will be over this soon, though. It's really rare for colic to persist past four months.

In the meantime, you absolutely NEED to accept help and support when offered. You family will live through a few hours of his screaming, I promise. Your mental health (and therefore your baby's well being) rely on you taking care of you sometimes.

Hang in there and please let your family help!!

  • It will get better...

shouting shut up at him is really sad. :( I feel sorry for your LO.

    get some help.

  • I feel your pain...LO has reflux and dairy/soy allergies that we still working out... poor guy hasn't been on anything (other than BM for the first 2 weeks) longer than a week due to his allergies...went from BM to Sensitive RS (for the reflux) but that consitpated and gave him aweful gas, then to Gentlease which gave him very liquidy mucus green poop, to Soy which constipated him again now we are on Alimentum (liquid only since the powder stopped him up, damn corn powder) and since day 12 of his life the screaming has not stopped... I just cry with him sometimes and remind myself THIS TO SHALL PASS and that he won't remember any of this when he is older!

take all the help from your family you can get...

    Prayers sent your way!

  • It will get better, I promise. I have living proof that it gets better (DD).  I have to tell myself this same thing everyday with DS because he is SO SO SO SO SO incredibly fussy/colicky/refluxy whatever!!!

Definitely allow your friends and family to take him for a while.  You would not believe what an hour break can do for your sanity.....do it for yourself and your little one.  He can sense your frustration too.
