Have any of you used your pregnancy as an excuse not to do things you don't want/like to?
For example: when we found out I was pregnant I told DH that I'm not allowed to clean the toilets or the shower...because it's bad for the baby. Mind you, we use chemical free cleaners in our house and even if there are chemicals, I'm not sure it's a no-no. I just didn't want to, so I made it up. :-)
Re: The lunch meat post got me thinking....
I used pregnancy as an excuse to not go to an OOT bridal shower that I just did not want to spend the money on. I told the bride I wasn't allowed to fly. I was the MOH and felt bad, but I really did not want to go!
But that's the only thing...I think using pregnancy as an excuse is lame.
Ha! I wish. I've continued to pull as much weight, if not more, around our house as before I was pregnant. My H is great about saying "Do you need help?" after I've already done 5 out of the 6 loads of laundry. My very favorite was when I had a bout of sciatica so bad that I had to all but crawl up our stairs. I came up to take my PNV before I went to bed and while I was standing at the cupboard he called from the couch and asked me to bring him some ibuprofen for his headache. Lovely.
We told family that we couldn't be more than an hour away from our hospital starting at 30 weeks. All of a sudden, both of our families had gotten really clingy and needy and wanted to see us every. single. free. minute that we had. It was weird so we put a stop to all the phone calls pretty quickly.
But as for getting out of cleaning and such? No.
