My RE finally called me back... Cue the tears, again.

Boy this IF crap can be so freaking draining.
My RE called me back and gave me the low down re: my egg retrieval. Of the 7 eggs they retrieved, it turns out ALL of them initially fertilized. I thought this was good - but nope. He said 4 of them fertilized with more than one sperm, which indicates either bad egg quality or he let the eggs get over ripe. Either way, that is how we ended up with only 3 embies.
I started crying on the phone and was so embarrassed. He was on the bluetooth coming in freaking dolby stereo on our car speakers. I felt like I was in a movie or something.
He also told me that their clinic grades each embie 1-4 (1 being the best) and I have a 1.5, a 2.5 and a 3. He is hoping we have at least the first one to transfer.
Cue the sobs. Like a fool.
I've been digesting all of this all night. I know it only takes one, but I've lost hope. I never thought in a million years I'd be dealing with this crap. Esp while all my friends are super fertile and announcing their pregnancies left and right.
Anyway, I'm rambling, sorry. That's all.

Oh, hon...I'm so sorry. Don't worry at all about the tears. Believe me, your RE has seen it before. You're dissapointed, and I would be too.
But...I'm going to keep the hope for you - and that they all keep growing strong for transfer. ((HUGS)).

Unexplained Infertility
After two Clomid cycles, three injectable IUI cycles, two IVFs, two miscarriages, and one lap surgery, IVF #2 has brought us our little boy!
TTC #2
After months of being postponed or cancelled, FET #1.3 (Natural FET) brought us twin girls!
C/P- at 6 weeks
5 IUI's= BFN
Dx: Endo stage 1 : evevated FSH (11.3)
IVF#1: 3dt 2 8 cell, grade 1 embyos :bfn

It's been a long journey. TTC since 9/06. multiple IUI's and IVF's and 4 m/c's. IVF#3 = BFP, twins, induced at 34w6d due to baby b passing away (no explanation). Delivered on 35w1d, Baby A - baby girl, and Baby B - baby boy, our little angel.

oh cc, I know it can be discouraging. Hang in there hon. Praying those 3 embies you have are rockstars and at least one snuggles right in with you.
Stay strong - this is the second hardest part. Waiting for beta is the hardest but waiting for transfer is very hard too. You still have a great great chance. There are so many cases where people have beautiful embies out the wazoo and have bfn's and times when people have not so perfect embies and get a bfp. Thinking of you.
