Ladies with little/no appetite...dinner ideas?

My appetite has decreased more & more over the past few weeks and NOTHING sounds good, especially for dinner.  Plus if I attempt to eat something too heavy, I suffer from heartburn/indigestion all night.  What are you ladies eating for dinner, if anything?  I'm fine with grilled cheese sandwiches but I don't want to do them every night.

  • you dont have to eat "dinner" to eat healthy.. Snacking is fine.. Peanut butter and crackers, Raw veggies, fruit, Milk etc.  As long as you are nurishing LO, that's all that counts.

  • My tummy has gone rebel also and to top it off I can only keep down a few bites at a time, which leaves me seriously grazing through the day. Grilled cheese sounds awesome but I wouldn't want it every night either, although you can change it up by adding some lunch meat to the grilled cheese. I do that all the time. Tonight I'm going to make a baked potato - sort of...I have all the fixings but not the potato, I do have some instant potatoes that I need to get rid of so that's what I using instead. We'll see how it goes...

There's also maybe a pasta with a bland tomato sauce. With heartburn issues I wouldn't add a whole lot to the sauce or get a sauce with a strong flavor. I think an Alfredo or cream sauce would be tolerable too. If you're up to it and maybe if it's cold out, chicken and dumplings can be very easy to make and can be made as bland as you need it to be. To keep it easy just use a can of raw biscuits for the dumplings instead of trying to make them yourself.

Hope you find something that sounds good!

  • I've been eating Cheez-Its.
  • Usually lunch is the only thing I have an appetite for. I end up eatting a bowl of cereal or some oatmeal in the morning, an orange or apple and some walnuts or almonds for a snack, a big lunch (whatever I made for dinner the night before, whether I ate it or not) and then at night I have no appetite. I end up eatting fruit and yogurt or another bowl of cereal or a small salad (spinach oranges and tomatoes) or you know.... an entire bag of chips. I can't seem to drink enough water throughout the day because I am always having BH so I think that is why I have no appetite.
  • Agree with the PPer. I very rarely eat a meal. Mostly I just snack when I feel hungry...which doesn't seem very often anymore.
  • What about a tuna melt?

I've been noshing on baked tortilla chips and salsa, and it hasn't (shockingly) given me heart burn. Also, natural fruit leather has been working for me throughout the day, because I just can't handle real fruit...It's a reflux nightmare...good luck :)

  • a bowl of cereal. and the milk should help a little with heartburn
  • I've really been enjoying smoothies lately.  At Target they have this EAS soy protein powder in chocolate and vanilla that is fairly low in calories and pretty reasonably priced.  My favorite combo has been 1 cup skim milk, one scoop of the chocolate protein powder, one banana and a few ice cubes.  It's delish and pretty healthy - I think only about 350 calories and 3g of fat or so.

  • I like breakfast for dinner if I am not having much of an appetite.  Eggs and toast, oatmeal, cereal, etc.
